Hi Elliot, yes I do – its split up by colour starting with minimal white then grouping sites by dominant colour (quite a strange way to group them I guess). I also have The Web Designers Idea Book (Patrick McNeil), and Icons – Web Design portfolios (Ed. Julius Wiedmann) which are similar books – showing loads of different websites.

If you are looking for ways to get your company noticed then the book on self promotion might be better for you. This one is more about sales techniques once you have a client meeting. I am in Northamptonshire UK and its not really a big design place either.

I couldn’t agree more, too many clients think design is just a 5 minute job using poor software, then when they get it printed they wonder why it doesn’t do the job for them.

I might have to invest in this, this job would be great if it weren’t for the clients! Shame it’s an ebook, a nice hardback would come in handy to hit them over the head with!
Seriously though any ideas from others in the industry is always going to be welcome, I’ve got a lot of experience in both sales, design & print but combining them is a bit of a nightmare, what a client wants out of a printing & design project and what they think is good design & print are two very different things which can be almost impossible to work round. I work from York, UK, it’s a beautiful place but the residents don’t seem to look beyond the city walls when it comes to ideas!

I haven’t heard about the site until I found your post.Thanks for this by the way…I am not that good on creating designs that is why it seems that it would really help me a lot.. I’m interested to get more ideas on how to create designs. of course learning without too much cost is better.

I’ve started running a mile or so each day before work – it really does help you become more dicsiplined, more alert, and more able to spot an opportunity. Highly reccomended, infact I am experiencing such a change, I can’t reccomend it enough! Great blog BTW.
