Didn’t work for blackberry, November 17, 2011

LG –

Good product, looks nice, charges normal from regular power but doesn’t work for blackberry. Tried to charge it for a long time twice. It looked like it had 4 lights, meaning it was fully charged but was not compatible with my device.

Didn’t work with Blackberry for me either, November 20, 2011

TV (Memphis, TN, USA) –

I have to echo what LG said. Looks good, seems not too flimsily built. Charged from power outlet until 4 LEDs lit (it has 5 holes to view LEDs but only 4 seemed to have lights). To be safe I charged it about 20 hours before attempting to use.

First, it didn’t have the right adapter for my Blackberry 9700, but since I already had a cable, this wasn’t a huge problem. But the fact that it didn’t charge my phone was a problem. I tried charging 2 or 3 times with the phone on, and if anything it seemed to be draining the battery. To see if the phone was just using power faster than the charge, I tried twice, for 2-3 hours each, with the phone powered completely off. Still no luck – one time the battery was 60% before and after the charge attempt, and the other time it went from 25% to 20% (maybe the power cost in rebooting the phone was what made it drop). So through all those attempts, no increase in charge % for the battery.

Giving it 2 stars because it seems like it might work, I suppose depending on the specs of your phone.

Too bad. I so hoped this would do what I needed. Now I need to look for another device to work.

This folding solar panel system is awesome! It charges my laptop and iphone easily! It has more features than the other folding solar products on amazon with car charger, battery, inverter and jumper cables (start your car!)
I highly recommend this product for camping, boating, traveling or emergency kits.

Powered my laptop and charged my cell phone while camping, July 29, 2010

Wow, this folding solar panel kit is amazing! We went camping in the Mojave Desert and we were able to use our mini laptop to watch dvd’s and my boyfriend was able to get some work done too! This kit is made with high quality material and folds up into a nice square. We were even able to charge the included batter to use our laptop after the sun went down… I sure glad we didn’t get lost but at least with this we could power our cell phones and call for help. I just bought another one to put in our earthquake kit! I highly recommend this product.

Most reliable solar panel I’ve owned, September 3, 2011

I’ve gone through quite a few different brands of solar panels, and even specific laptop solar panels that were supposed to give a long charge. This portable folding solar panel kit was by far the best value and easily exceeded anything I’ve used before. You can take it just about anywhere and it stores without any issues. The charge is incredibly impressive for the size and durability is top notch. On top of all else, it comes with a bundle of very useful accessories, including jumper cables–my wife loves that this was included. If you’re tired of spending big bucks on batteries (or portable battery chargers that don’t have a good endurance to support laptops, phones, etc.) then this is the way to go.
