This gadget is mind-boggling in its complexity, something that might even fascinate a highly intelligent Martian. I expect it will become popular with gadget-minded techies (and G… knows there are enough of them around) but I can’t see it ever being the mainstay of a true book person.
The magic of having a book in the hand, particularly something like the old Penguins/Pelicans, can never be superseded. It’s the feel of the thing as much as the content.
But Iwish Amazon the best of luck with this thing, - they are a great company.

Not sure if people use it, probably because there is no driving factor now, but if google starts indexing that metadata, we’ll see more videos have metadata injected in. ,

I am researching kindle for a friend of mine who has lost the sight in his right eye and has reduced sight in his left eye. He is able to read a newspaper with the aid of a magnifying glass. Can the font be emboldened and enlarged the latter to what size font? the new kindle that I have read about does it have the facility to “speak” the book? My friend has type 1 diabetes and could benefit hugely from this device. May I ask can he download the daily Irish Times newspaper published here in Ireland
