Love the video! It is so hard to think of a "fun" way to talk about B2B products (in our case accounting software, how fun is that!!). But this company did an excellent job. Maybe it is possible to make accounting software "fun"! I feel inspired....... I am just curious how much work and $ goes into producing a video like this. Does anyone know?

I totally agree. It seems so "cheesy" but it must work on some folks because I see it all the time. But who the heck has time to wade through all that hype? And the fake price slashing is insulting!

I agree that public speaking is probably the best and most effective way to reach others as a opinion leader. Nothing come close to positioning yourself as a industry leader, short of writing a book.

The question is that the art and know-how of:
1. Being effective at it, and
2. Knowing how to consistenty book yourself enough engagements
is where most professionals fall down.

Best, Edwin

Be glad that the Staples warranty hasn't kicked-in! Staples warranties are worse than worthless. For $109 I purchased a 3 year extended Staples warranty for a large printer. The warranty covers repair at the location of the printer (they come to your place). After contacting Staples on July 15, 2009, they said that they would sent someone to repair it. More than 3 weeks have passed and all I get are calls that it's been reasigned to someone else, that the technician is on vacation... Staples obviously doesn't feel that one actually needs to use the things they purchase, and that they are honoring their warranty if they provide the service within the century. STAPLES WARRANTIES ARE WORSE THAN WORTHLESS. DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM STAPLES!

I agree, good marketing is all about building a rhythm. I was on hiatus from marketing for a while and my momentum has definitley waned.

That's okay though because once you get the gears turning again you'll be back in the mix.

best,
Chris

I read your article and really enjoyed it - it was simple and easy to understand, yet very useful. You made some very good points, it's the sort of thing that all of us need to keep in mind. I particularly think it's very important to ensure that you are maintaining brand integrity at all times and so have been very impressed with the service provided http://www.digitallizard.com/index.php - even the online portal they provide you with has your company's branding on it.
