I agree with the missing security link in Evernote. If that was added I would be using it more. Backblaze offers all data to be encrypted with a strong password and does not store the password. They use this to keep the data at rest secured. Seems like evernote can do something as simple as this and it would solve their security issue. Patiently waiting!

Joe – Can you clarify your statement about “The cost of identity theft or most fraud as fairly small”? As someone who has spent years dealing with and handling fraud from a personal and professional perspective, I have to whole heartedly disagree with that notion as written.

Second this motion. I understand there may be feature loss but I can accept that for a notebook or note.

The tool has becomes so valuable I accept the risk. I use the text encryption. The cost of identity theft or most fraud is fairly small.

Hi,

Little by little I’ve gradually decreased my aEvernote activity because I do worry about their security strategy. It is really annoying having to analyze every single information piece I want to remember and put it in different locations for it defeats the whole Evernote point… I no more rely on them and that places me in an unstable situation when it comes to storing my personal data. I wouldn’t mind paying more if they actually evolved their security implementation…

I feel they keep adding newer features but in terms of security they are yet to upgrade their security strategy.
