I have suggested on many of my posts that the problem lies in sub-prime loans being priced too low. I remember using stated income myself when it was priced better than regular conforming loans.

The market will correct risk premium pricing, and yes there will be foreclosures, but mark my words the bond holders will still want more sub-prime loans. They love the returns even with higher than average foreclosures.
