Great question! Let's take an enewsletter for example: Many of us have our subject line state FAKE Name Weekly News. While this is great for branding and alerting the reader to who the newsletter is from, it doesn't do much for encouraging the reader to stop what they are doing and open it up. So, time to use that pre-header! Keep the branded subject line, but for your pre-header, insert information about the top article or two -- such as "Annual meeting deadline "or "Update on MD tax hikes and more". This way, it doesn't duplicate the subject line but it complements it -- providing the reader extra insight to make the decision to open the email.

Joyce,

What a great interview and I enjoyed reading about your insights into how you manage client success and your team at Informz! Love how you put the needs of your clients first, ensure that your team flourishes and just dive in and get it done to deliver amazing service. I doubt any business can go wrong with that culture of service and success at the core of what they do.

Chaotic. Stressful. Rewarding....Your counterparts on the Client Success Team at Higher Logic can very much relate to those types of days. Best of luck with your upcoming Users Group conference!

Best,

I always observe what big companies do in their advertisements, especially their e-mail newsletter ads. Sometimes they have great call to action words and techniques, like giveaways and discounts. You can get ideas or incorporate their techniques into your own business marketing.

Always keep a lookout and keep your eyes open for inspiration and ideas.

Great article. Thanks for sharing!

I just implemented it, using the DMARC wizard here: http://www.unlocktheinbox.com/dmarcwizard.aspx

The receivers who are testing it are really testing it, so if you set it up for your domain, it will actually be used, by some receivers to restrict and reject mail.
