If you use the envelope system, Moneywell is awesome. If not, then look into iBank. I've been downloading daily snapshots of Chromium for Mac, which is the development version of Chrome. It's coming along and looks awesome. I can't wait.

Oh dude - I've been looking for a finance program for Mac. I've been using Quicken, but really hate it (honestly, I wish Microsoft would release a Money for Mac. I LOVED using Money). I'll give Moneywell a try.

I used Safari a couple different times, but page loading was inconsistent at best. At worst, images wouldn't even load properly. I totally agree though - I'm anxiously awaiting Chrome for Mac.

My main apps are: DestroyTwitter, Mail, iCal, NetNewsWire (RSS), Things, Moneywell, iTunes, Coda and Safari. I ended up removing Firefox from my dock and using Safari. Firefox just isn't as fast anymore. Once Google Chrome comes out for mac, then that'll be my browser of choice.

I searched for nice sentences I could say to my fiancé which is comparable to my feelings for her, Some of your reasons are comparable to mines. I asked my girlfriend to marry me and with her answer I am the happiest guy on earth. So for our future we need to work hard. but I told myself ''yes she is the one for me, She is the one I want to marry and have a family with''

Thanks for your nice reasons and story. you'r a lucky man!

I came to this site because I was looking to interview someone for a job (long story) and found a short list that was quite beautiful.

In a world where, what passes for "entertainment" is anything BUT what is suitable for family discussion, let alone viewing, this list is such a breath of fresh air!

I don't know you, but it is my sincerest hope and prayer that the journey you are on continues for many years to come.

God bless you both. :)

I think I'm there with you- the line I was trying to get at was more on the topic of leading worship. From the front, where do we instruct (maybe releasing people's anxieties or teaching them body postures, etc.) and where do we just let them feel it themselves- just focus on presenting Christ and helping them to see Christ as He really is. I guess the line between imperative and didactic, because we have to choose what we say (or not say) at some point. Basically, how do we package and present the idea of your post?

I think that's the problem though. We're so afraid of crossing some imaginary line that we don't even try. This concept was more or less the idea behind The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus:

"Somewhere along the way the movement of Jesus Christ became civilized as Christianity. We created a religion using the name of Jesus Christ and convinced ourselves that God's optimal desire for our lives was to insulate us in a spiritual bubble where we risk nothing, sacrifice nothing, lose nothing, worry about nothing. I wonder how many of us have lost our barbarian way and have become embittered with God, confused in our faith because God doesn't come through the way we think He should...

"When we fear God and God only, we are no longer bound by all of the other fears that would hold us captive. The fear of death, the fear of failure, the fear of rejection, the fear of insignificance --- all of the fears that we know by name and haunt us in the dark of the night become powerless when we know the fear of the Lord. And if this is not enough, we discover that perfect love casts out all fear. Not even God will hold us or control us by fear. When we fear Him, we in essence begin to live a life where we are fearless."

The point is - maybe we aren't worshiping God because we really don't fear Him in the first place. If we had that mindset, I don't think we'd have to worry about a line.

Your son is a great example for us all...and one thing that kept coming up in listening to Sovereign Grace's previous WorshipGod messages was that it's not so much our job to tell people how to act as much as it is to present a clear picture of who God is- in His beauty- and then people will react and start going into their "baby-interpretive-dance mode."
But then I wonder where that line is. If we have lost it, or maybe never had the freedom to learn or embrace it, there's got to be some direction...it's a fine line somewhere...

"Paul is forbidding something; what is it?"- I looked at 13 different commentaries and the majority (11, I believe) state that Paul is forbidding compromising your beliefs or standards. So, when you read the materials for "Christians" on the One Sabbath website, what was being compromised?

Exactly my point.

If everyone was on the same page about that something we wouldn't be having this conversation. Rather than getting caught up in this debate (and it IS a debatable issue) - look at the gospel message that they are preaching:

Are they preaching an alternate means of salvation?

Are they preaching any other gospel?

Nope.

Are they preaching an alternate means of salvation?

Are they preaching any other gospel?

Nope.

Isaac,

Yeah, my concern isn't about working with unbelievers per se. Rather, it's about how we do so.

So, when Paul forbids being "unequally yoked", what did he mean? It's not enough to say "It's debatable" and then walk away from it. Paul is forbidding something; what is it?

Yeah, I see your point. Thanks for your input.

We have different opinions on this matter. Like I said earlier - no one that is shown on the video as representing Christ gives any indication that they promote or endorse the other religions. Rather, they are pushing their own congregations to get involved in the effort to help other people... it just so happens that the peep's at ONE have gotten a few other religions to do the same thing, independently of the works of Warren, Third Day, Steve Taylor and others.

I don't know the inner workings of ONE, so that last part is just a guess.

SO, the matter is really how far do you have to go to separate yourself from the world to not be unequally yoked? What's the line?

Aside from people like you and Mike who work at places like Samaritan Ministries, or people like me that work at a church, MOST of the Christian population works with non-believers every day. So, are they unequally yoked? I don't think so. Does that mean we can work with non-believers so long as it doesn't eradicate a disease or hunger or some other global issue? Or is it simply that we don't do as "Christians"?

Being yoked with an unbeliever means different things to different people. And in my opinion, that's okay. It's not a black and white. In fact, I remember one person at SM arguing that non-profits and churches were wrong to be "unequally yoked" with the government simply for taking the tax benefits. So, the whole issue is debatable.

Hey, Isaac!

Leaving aside anything specifically about Rick Warren, I still am concerned about One Sabbath. How is this not being "unequally yoked" as Paul discusses in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18?

To be clear, here's my concern. This video presents One Sabbath in this way: "We are all people of faith, and we can all agree that poverty is bad. Therefore, let's work together as people of faith to fight poverty."

Except we're not all "people of faith". We are the sons of the living God, and they are the sons of the wicked one.

Right?

So then, how can we claim to be similar to Muslims or Hindus?

And why is Warren, who doesn’t keep the biblical Sabbath to begin with, worried about taking part in One Sabbath?

As a total aside from the Rick Warren issue...

It seems more likely that One (the foundation) independently came up with "One Sabbath" in their marketing department, and pitched the idea to several Christian, Muslim & Hindu leaders, rather than Rick Warren putting the entire thing together.

Thanks for weighing in, Mike!

Obviously, as you can see from this post, I don't hold the same point of view regarding Rick Warren.

For starters, I certainly don't see him as a heretic. His ministry has brought the gospel to thousands (millions even) of people. During which, he has never proclaimed any way other than Christ's atonement for sin as a means of salvation. And he didn't say anything in the video that indicated a belief in or validation of any of the other religions that are represented in this video, either.

He is doing what I think a lot of Christians are not willing to do: partner with groups of people of differing beliefs to address a common concern.

Sorry. It's unequal yoking. Helping the poor on a nonreligious basis is one thing, and is something all we Christians should be doing, but "coming together" with other religions to do so is another thing.

Warren is a clear-cut heretic. It's this kind of compromise that is pervasive in the church today and has made it ineffectual.
