Hi John,

Thanks for recommending such a fantastic service!

I have visited their site and found the packages they are selling. Customers have to provide keywords to order. Now after Google update we know how important varying keywords is. I would like to know for 1 keyword, how many variations should we submit?

Thanks!

Simple advice, but often overlooked until it is too late. One other thing I can add, is make a backup of your site that is not housed anywhere on your hosting, I found a small little plugin that can automatically backup your site to Amazon's S3 service very useful http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/automatic-wordpress-backup/ and it has saved my bacon when a certain web host managed to lose my site.

S3 is very cheap, and offers a massive amount of storage, for individual object of up to 5GB in size...

To find out more and pricing from Amazon check here Simple Storage System

I am reluctant to use any company for link building. I prefer solid manual guest posting to stay with the search engine's good books.

Hi John,

In my opinion, there is no better thing for startup/intermediate bloggers to be doing than guest posting on relevant blogs.

It brings you so much more than traffic - it introduces you to fellow bloggers in your niche and allows you to nurture valuable relationships too. None of which you will get with the guest posting service you mention.

If you consider guest posting to be too much work, you can do something very simple - reduce the posting schedule on your blog whilst you are building your traffic levels. If you're only getting a few visits per day, what is the point in writing post after post for a handful of people? Far better to write for far more people on other blogs, bring the traffic and potential subscribers back to yours, then increase your posting schedule on your own blog when the time is right.

Cheers,

Tom

Trading seems too much like gambling to me. If I can't control the variables I know I will end up losing it.

This is great for those with analytical minds that can figure this stuff out though.

You can move a subscriber to a different list. I'll do a post on how to do that in a future article.

Nice tips and would be useful.
One query: If you have multiple blogs on one server (with multiple Wordpress installations), how do you prevent an attacker from getting access to all your blogs from one compromised blog ? So, if you have 5 blogs on one server, and one of them gets compromised through some attack, what are the settings for making sure that the other blogs would not be impacted ?
