Never mind hockey…. DON’T TRUST MLSE! As a big time Toronto FC supporter, it is no secret in Canada, that at the time of formation, the supporters broke every league record in terms of attendance.

To date, TFC is the only franchise that has NEVER had a seat left unfilled, not even for a friendly despite having the most expensive tickets in the league. 16 000 season tickets are sold each year, plus an additional 5000 single-tickets sold, and 14 000 fans are on a non-refundable waiting list for seasons tickets 3 years in advance.

Despite everything that fans have given the Toronto FC outfit, MLSE returned the favour by fielding a team that finished at the bottom of the table two years running…. Don’t let this seasons early success fool you, the season is still early, and MLSE has yet to sign a Super Star for the best supported outfit on this side of the Atlantic.

As Terry said in his comment, good to see long term sponsors to the club. When i looked at the first part of the article on leedsunited.com, i thought who on earth are these? But when i looked at the rest of the article i found out they are one of the best independent travel companies so this is much better than last years redkite. Buying my shirt as soon as it comes out, as it’s bound to sell out on its opening day.

Nemeth would be a wonderful addition for us if he wants to come. He is a very good player and showed good form for the Liverpool reserves. However, it makes no sense if he chooses to go on loan, not when he has already impressed Rafa Benitez. The possiblity of breaking into first team this season is very real for him. Thus choosing between playing for us and a Premier League side, I really don’t blame him and I certainly do not feel insulted by his snub given our predicament over the past few years.

But you have ‘headers’ on this site that say ’stockport to crumble next’ - whats all that about ?? i have watched my team for 30 years and more and believe me ‘police advice’ means that the police are telling you that the kick off time has changed - if you think that SCFC are asking for a change because the mighty leeds are in town your barking???
We definately look forward to playing ‘bigger’ clubs this year and leeds and leicester are at the top end of that - but we are an old fashioned traditional football club and sat at 3 is when it should all happen
I can’t comment on yorkshire police but GMP are bloody awful always have been and always will be - it is the GMP that are ‘crumbling’ and not SCFC
LUFC 28th Dec at 3pm - it is what this christmas is all about for some of us - or should have been:(
My last thoughts on this - If it is 84 years since we last played Leeds - do you honestly think WE would want the kickoff time brought forward AT CHRISTMAS?????

scb - I’m pleased that you wouldn’t swap Stockport for Leeds - it’d be a bit bloody boring if we all supported the same club!

It’s a shame that KO has to be moved - because of a clash with a Man u game I understand from another poster?

But as these fixtures are formally run past the police before they are announced why the hell didn’t they spot this before they were announced?

Someone in GM Police screwed up big time missing this.

Our game could have been scheduled for a different day entirely and we could have enjoyed our first trip to County for 85 years!! As we beat you the last time we met (1924) 4-0 you’ll be out for revenge??

“Stockport” - at least read the bloody post if you’re going to comment on it.

The “big club attitude” - all in your head son. The article is written because we want to see Leeds play - no matter if it is in League Two against St Albans Reserves or League One against Stockport.

Man Utd??? Where did the article mention them? Oh, in your head again. There’s more to life than Man Utd. The Premier League is predictable and expensive. I enjoyed much of our time in the Championship - the league is much more competitive and last season was just as tense, for me way better than mid-table mediocrity in the PL.

Stop making assumptions and read the article.

The crack at the end about being disinterested etc was not about a big club attitude, nor addressed to all league One clubs. The writer fairly makes the point that if you go to all that trouble to keep him away from the match then “sod you and your club”, you can go to hell. But he will still visit other clubs and spend plenty of money there when they keep the designated time set for the fixture by the football league. What’s wrong with that?

The writer is well aware of the law relating to this area - but supports this site’s stand on the moving of these games because he feels clubs should stand up and question what is being done.

Dave Whelan managed to kick up a fuss over police costs rather than just accept it.

It would be nice to see a L1 chairman say, “the moving of the Kick off is unfair to Leeds fans who spend a lot of money visiting us” we want a rethink. I won’t hold my breath. The action of the Yeovil Town board is absolutely ludicrous.

Final thought, why is it called “police advice” if the club HAS to obey?

I’m not bothered who you are or how big a club you think you are - i am a Stockport fan and I wouldn’t swap my club for yours - I have a good deal of sympathy for the fans who suffer as a result of the police overreaction - it happens to us all - admittedly not as often it seems
But don’t go blaming us mate:( it has F all to do with us and even worse once the police have decided to change the kickoff there is F all we can do about it
So keep your comments a bit more reasoned??

Ooooph! That a big club attitude I see there? we wouldn’t piss on these clubs if they were on fire, disinterested. Well you may yearn for the Man Utd game of yesteryear but you’re not going to get it soon. so you’ll have to make do with the Stockport match as your closest alternative.

You’re a Division 3 club currently regardless of history - that is fact.

Do you think our fans want an early kick off time near Xmas - no we don’t and have we got a choice in the matter one the plod stick their piglet ears in? NOPE!

I think many clubs are doing this in collusion with the police. It is easier on the police if the game is held at 12pm rather than 3pm and the home team knows Leeds will have less fans behind them than if it is played at 3pm.

The vocal support of the Leeds fans is important - look at Carlisle Utd in the play-off semi-final refusing to sell us more than the bare minimum they had to do even though there were 2500 empty seats at the game and their fans were saying it would be a sell-out.

It suits both police and opponents to do this and they are milking it for their advantage.

I agree with you Chris - there is no reason Leeds Utd would want a Liverpool reserve with so many to choose from already.

Macca has a limited budget and Nemeth makes no sense.
