I did not read the article but after reading “How the Brain Works” over two years ago.Based on their research findings —The energy and processors to re-focus when going back to the old task we catch less than half of the content and our reaction or use of that information is degraded sharply. So Larry your switch to Single tasking is not only making you more effective but scientifically proven…When you see people texting and listening to presentations it isn’t happening.

I believe this is a matter of personal preference, and I thank you ladies for your comments.

From my perspective, I was a frequent multi-tasker in the past, with multiple windows open at once, etc. Now, I like to make my list and work must list, one at a time. It keeps me more focused.

I absolutely agree. Especially in the areas of the law such as litigation and bankruptcy or estates that required dedicated time to effectively assess the matter as well as complete tasks in stages as necessary. Helter Skelter never works well for me. Fast or right is the doctrine I follow along with – ten tasks performed poorly or two performed

I think it’s best to follow your own natural style. If I had to focus on one project until completion, I wouldn’t get half as much work done, nor would I enjoy my work day as much as I do now! I feed off the energy that multi-tasking requires.
