Hi Sam, I'm not completely healed, but I'm able to work out and play all I want. At this point, I'm just working on my swing as much as I can. The changes are easy to understand but not so easy to implement. The day job has been consuming a lot of my energy, so I've been on a bit of website hiatus, but I'm still working on my game. In fact, I just had a lesson on Saturday and I've been making some nice progress the last few weeks.

Thanks for the tip, Chris. Glad to hear you've been able to find a solution. At this point, I'm not completely healed, but it doesn't bother me much, so I'm able to practice all I want.

Hey Mike - tough break. Injuries are both irritating and worrying, particularly given your quest. Have you tried icing it regularly? That can be helpful if it's sore because of an inflammatory reaction (although this shouldn't be interpreted as medical advice!). Have you though about seeing someone with an interest is sport's injuries? They might be able to give you advice on how to maximise your healing, or at least give you a timescale. I've also had great experience with physiotherapist with an interest in golf - they're fantastic at identifying where your physical restrictions are, and giving you a set of exercises to improve this. In my case, a $50 session improved my swing more than $500 worth of swing lessons would have done...because my body just couldn't move correctly.

It'd also be something you could do to improve at golf even though you're laid up with injury?

Hi,
Whatever anybody will say ,buddy go ahead and live your dream.
I held the golf club first time in my hand on 1st jan .2004 and I was 40 years old.Guess wha,t today I drive in the range of 300yds and play near scratch.Have watched canadian open and barclays play off and come to realize that it is no rocket science but sheer control of your mind. That is what pro golf is all about.
I will suggest, if only you put the factor of "FEEL" in your game you will go places.

There are quite a few PGA Tour guys using Stack and Tilt that we've never heard of because they're not usually in contention, but I know Aaron Baddely and Mike Weir are no longer Stack and Tilt advocates and have since went back to their old coaches.

I do think it is a much better swing to teach to beginners. It does not depend upon shifting from right to left. It starts out with the fundamental of all great swings: weight in front of ball and hitting down on the ball, with a divot in front. I do not think that stack and tilt is the way for pros. There is less weight shift going forward, less opportunity to create a large arc of the swing. Stack and Tilt allows me to be more consistent. Also, to better hit on the sweet spot of the face of the club. That counts for a lot of swing speed. I could understand why one would play one method one year, and switch to another. Hopefully, the end result is a better swing.

Hey that is a great explanation specifically not shifting the fulcrum. I might have to give it another try. The driver didn't work for me.

Steve Elkington, Mike Weir, Tommy Armour III, etc. have all left Stack and Tilt. The reasons they give are different but they don't think they played well with the technique. Maybe it is a better way to hit the ball for an average golfer?

Slow play and etiquette need sorting. Slow play is a killer for my game particularly when there is someone waiting behind you to play. You feel rushed and obliged to speed up. I know I shouldn't but I know this is what I do. Etiquette is another one I am not talking about dress sense here I don't care what you wear but please leave the golf course as it was, Replace divots, rake bunkers, repair pitch marks and look after the course please.
