I don't even watch the news any more, it just makes me sick to watch the chattering class of politicians trying to "not waste a crisis" to slop their pork.

The small government libertarian in me hasn't enjoyed the president for the last 8 years, the 8 before that, and really the 4 before that. Looks like the next 4 are guaranteed to suck worse. And if the budget people are right, suck worse than all the previous presidents combined.

And personally, things have gone from bad to worse, and most of it is out of my control. 2009 is not turning out better than 2008.

I started my blog to bitch about stupidity in the dog world, but now that my dogs are, more than ever, the major positive in my life, it's hard to focus on the negatives. And really, I've never enjoyed reading the "look at all the fun we're having" dog blogs... and I don't think it'd be fun writing one that way.

I admire your blog because you took up the cause of fighting for clarity and smartness in flyball sport and were willing to point out the stupidity. You're no less effective when you point out the stupidity of our politicians.

I don't think I missed your point. At least completely ; ) And I'm not a label, either. I certainly have left leanings, but I don't like extremes on either side, generally. I agree with you on Madonna. It's immature, and doesn't achieve anything. I saw it on tv, and didn't laugh it off at all. However, when I watched something like the Concert for Change, with liberal artists such as Springsteen, I enjoy it because it's not mean spirited, it's just celebratory of that viewpoint. I'm turned off by the McCain campaign's mud slinging, and I don't think either side should have to resort to that.

You’ve missed my point completely. The difference between me and Liberals like you is that you see nothing wrong with the constant personal attacks and media bias. You can disagree with someone without attacking them on a personal level. People with a public voice louder than mine should keep that in mind. A good example is Madonna on stage screaming to the crowd “Sarah fucking Paling" and "get that bitch out of here". Nice hah? Do you think the people in the crowd wanted that piece of political advice when they paid for their ticket? I could have done without it you probably would have laughed it off.

It's not ok for an actor to have an opinion and be public about it, but it's ok for you? Hmmm.... Perhaps, too, it appears biased and "hammering" because it disagrees with your view. It doesn't to me, because I agree with it more. I don't understand when someone says they're going to stop watching someone, or see their movies, simply because they have different political leanings. I respect anyone who opens their mouth and bothers to at least HAVE an opinion. Even those I disagree heartily with. It's great to have all views. Just my .02 :)

Larry - What a beautiful tribute to your mother, also to your grandmother that you never met. I've been fortunate to still have both my parents, but dad's in the hospital right now hopefully to be out in a couple of days. Thank you for sharing, you've definately tugged MY heartstrings. : )

My thoughts also tend to wonder if Obama hears himself when he speaks. Me, me, me and then he lumps in the American people. When someone speaks with I and not we. The picture is clear.

I was just reading the Couric interview with Gov. Palin and wondered how many ways was she going to ask one question that was already answered twice. Libs need a new playbook.

Our country is getting bombarded from beyond our borders in the financial arena, another 9/11 in progress. They didn't quite get it done with the planes. Keep an eye on the news in all areas, my fellow Americans.

Concerned in Pennsylvania,
Norma

Ah, but God is a God of second chances........... I love that.
"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." (Phil. 3:12, NIV))

If I could help, I would. God is gracious and merciful and does not expect us to be perfect--only to try. I will pray that He gives you strength, wisdom, and comfort.
