I agree with you Debra, this is not only useful for healthcare industry, but for any industry. We often search for symptoms in first place, then for problems and finally for solutions (products/services).

Thanks! For me the anchor text variation would happen naturally anyway since I'm developing content around the questions.

Great find Debra!

I see this in a completely different light: anchor text variation. If Google thinks query X is highly related to Query Y & Z, then I've just found a few keywords that I can use to vary my anchor text. With all else equal, that would be the epitome of natural.

Thoughts?

I've used a tactic sort of similar to #4 a few times to draw blog comments and get passionate discussions going but with a twist.

I have a double opt-in email newsletter and from time to time I'll get subscribers that send replies to auto-responder follow ups or broadcasts. Sometime I'll do a blog post anonymously addressing their questions or concerns for all to see and comment on - it usually gets a pretty good response.

Interviews work great for link building in both ways. Whether you are giving the interview or you are the one being interviewed it can be a nice way to generate link power.
