That's how we usually have them. For some reason, I'm always drawn to try new recipes at holidays and with company. :)

Mmmmm sweet potatoes! This year I'm making a big pan the way my one-year-old likes them: chunked, roasted in a little olive oil and salt. So simple, so delicious.

I have echinacea in chewable tablet form. It tastes like slightly sweet nothing. When we were all down with the "never-ending cold" I was desperate and bought 100 tablets. Within a few days of starting it, we were all better! Another thing you can do is get some probiotics. They will help build up the immune system. I bought the adult capsules and add 1/2 a capsule to my little one's applesauce. (It was cheaper and we got more than getting the adult AND children's version.)

Oh, and you can boil the tooth brushes to get rid of the germs. We did that once everyone started feeling better, and again when were were all well.

I sure hope that all of this illness builds all of your immune systems up so you won't have to deal with illness for the rest of cold & flu season!

The Glass Castle... I read it about four years ago and it still haunts me. Definitely read it. I'm sure it would strike me even harder now that I have a child.

Does this mean you haven't read the Harry Potter books? I do think you should read at least the first one just to know what it's all about. I enjoyed 1-3, and then 4 was so boring, I lost interest in the series. However, when book 7 came out, I read the end to find out how all the characters end up.

Read Hunger Games and Harry Potter first- be prepared to need to read the rest of the series immediately. Kite Runner and Shanghai girls are also excellent.

Not sure about the rest.
