Early involvement is such a great one. I've missed that one sometimes, or have been included late in a process, and it almost always seems to breed resentment. Thanks for this reminder.

Nanci, thank you for this reminder. The world would be a better place if we all understood the power of a heartfelt apology.

I appreciate your boldness in making these points Nanci; and some think sexism is a thing of the past. Last night I saw the 2010 video, For Colored Girls, and highly recommend it. It addresses many issues of sexism still present today and shows how one group of women come to support each other's journey.

Thank you, Nancy. This is a very powerful piece...and one I needed to read at this time. I had noticed my pattern of apology, but I had not connected to the reason behind it. Mil gracias, hermana.

That is one of the most thought provoking messages I have ever read!!! Thank you so much Nanci..I always felt I had an understanding of how an apology can be effective in the ability to heal and reconcile, but it is now much more clearer and with a deeper and profound meaning to me after reading. I appreciate you sharing your counsel and for being an inspiration to myself and others.....amazing!!!!!

Glad you are finding the examples helpful, Delilah. Sexism can be so slippery to identify--especially for us women living in the US. I look forward to hearing your new song!

Thanks for making this point so clearly. Sometimes I actually need examples because sexism creeps in so persistently around me. I'm in the midst of song about standing together, and your blog is helping me get clearer about what I want to say. Thank you!
