Was just at Rincon Parkway this past weekend (10/9 to 10/11)…..saw the same Airstream. They (Ventura County) were in the middle of resurfacing the asphalt in both Faria and Hobson Parks (premium sites). I think they’re going to resurface Rincon in the next few weeks. No doubt you discovered that everything (Rincon, Faria, Hobson) is on a first come /first serve basis. We picked up spot on the parkway on Thursday, and there were probably a couple dozen available. Typically, if you want a full hookup spot in Faria, or Hobson you have to get there no later than Wednesday, which shouldn’t be too hard for you since you live so close. I think the premium spots are now $40/night now, but you get water, electric, sewer and cable TV. The last time we stayed at Faria my brother drove up on a Wednesday last January and got two full hookup spots. You can save a full hookup spot with just a small tent, and by paying for the number of days you will want the site for. This is what the “locals” do. They are willing to pay an extra $40-$80 to get a spot for the weekend.
