Loneliness does not come from not having people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to you.

Putting this idea together with the concept of church, I start to wonder why churches are missing the mark.  Perhaps because many churches view the preservation of doctrine as their mission?  But doctrine imposed from above does indeed neglect the conversational aspect of an inquiring heart and mind.  And so people are truly lonely because they still cannot engage with what is important.
