So very sad to hear this as i was looking forward to seeing a new Pontiac Trans Am. I have owned 2 Trans Ams, one was a 1987 trans am / firebird and the other is my current car, a 2005 Trans Am. Both have served me well and i have never had any major problems with either car. I like how they handle and the power i got from both of them was absolutely incredible. Thank you Pontiac for these great cars, wish i could look forward to more in the future.

Robert, sorry it took almost two years to respond to you! I just now noticed your question. If you are still interested let me know. I used to work with ASC so that helped but alot of the production numbers are available on different sites. Let me know if you are still interested...better late than never?

I liked your story. It shows how much the car meant to you. Some people do not understand the relationship people have with cars. I have a 76 TA 455 HO 4 speed. My mom and dad new the orginial owner, my uncle bought it in 77. Then my dad traded three cars and 2500 dollars for it. My brother bought it and owned it for 18 years. 2 years ago my brother said it was going to sell for 6000 or 5000 in the family. So the next week I went to the bank and borrowed against my truck to buy it. I needs restored. I work on cars but am trying to raise the money for parts by selling other firebird parts and do what I can. I remember how I felt when I was a small kid riding in the car. I felt like no other car could compare. My mom is hoping to see what I can do with it because it has 51000 miles on it and see is the one the put most of them on it. She thinks it is neat that see bought the car at 22 and I bought from my brother at 22. I want to do what I can to recreated the past for my whole family with an original paint and make it like new.

I owned a 1975 gold Esprit with tan interior from November 1980 until June of 1981. I was the second owner and my dad convinced me to trade it for a 1981 Chevy Chevette since gas prices were so high. That might have been the biggest mistake in my life. It was such a beautiful automobile! I have tried to find one over the years, but they are impossible to find.

Your car looks great - just like mine did almost 30 years ago.
