Dave: No worries, it's geared for women to build their businesses, but everyone is welcome to join in! I hope you got your issues resolved. I never got this one fixed as At&T just kept passing the buck and sending me back to the idiots who cancelled my order without telling me in the first place. I just make sure I tell everyone interested in a cell phone NOT to go with AT&T.

My son's unit just came back from Iraq and they were all itching to get themselves phones. He was sure to let them know how AT&T just cancels your order after you place it and never bothers to tell you or even gives a good reason why you can't buy a phone from them. It's up to you to read their mind and call them to find out you aren't getting what you were expecting. That's only 4000 people, but it's a start! :)

starting on my journey through corporate now...I'm done dealing with a customer service entity that is not interested in fixing the problem. I am taking it over their heads because they are obviously beyond useless. What a shame that this has become the norm in today's business. I (we?) can use this example to ask ourselves...how do we treat our clients when there is something wrong? even if it's beyond our control?

Thank you for replying Kevin. I have received the email and appreciate you going out of your way to contact us about this.

I received many other emails from other MerchantCircle merchants regarding this, that were not posted here. I think that while the initial reactions were very similar to mine in most cases, some of us still have some other issues that weren't related to this email that we received.

Kevin: If you happen to stop by again, perhaps you might have a suggestion of where we can let you know what else is either keeping us from becoming full paid members or just other issues that seem to have set us all on edge before we got "the email". Would you just like us to email you at the above email or is there another platform for discussing these things?

To everyone: Aside from a few questionable and slightly annoying things, the concept of MerchantCircle is a good one. I just wish I didn't feel like I was being used for their own gain every time I am contacted. That could just be me, and it could just be because I see webmasters trying to get by with things every day. (I get jobs all the time that the initial communication start out with, "I need help! My webmaster [insert something unethical here] !!") If no one else feels that way, then I apologize to MerchantCircle for being edgy in the first place.

Hi Wendy, Jim,

We've been working through the night, because it was honestly a mistake. We've already sent out a follow-up email apologizing to anyone who got the email, and offering two free extra additional service areas for our Local Plus Product. We sincerely, SINCERELY apologize and regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. This was not a scam.

With a network of over 600,000 members and only 16 employees, we were attempting to ensure the quality and validity of the network and their was an email server error. I wrote a blog post here: http://www.merchantcircle.com/corporate/blog/

Once again, I apologize and please follow up at CustomerCare@MerchantCircle.com if you have anymore questions.

thanks,
Kevin

I found your post when I did a google search on a block of text from an email I received identical to your own. The "with in", "rebate this email" and missing "to" all in your quoted paragraph suggested this might be a phishing attempt.

However, I use unique email addresses for each account I create, and it seems this is the real deal. Like you, I have vented my displeasure to MerchantCirle.

Whoever penned this email should be fired, along with anyone who came up with the idea for it.
