I agree completely. There is a new initiative from the ASPS American Society of Plastic Surgery emphasizing safety and perhaps I'll write an entry on it. Thank you for the comment!

Buyer beware. If a deals seems to good to be true it probably is. I've had a breast reduction and an abdominoplasty. While I am thrilled that I had them done, the overall experience is a challenge and not something to take short cuts with. I encourage all to make sure your surgeon has the right credentials and certifications, is he/she current on the latest safety measures, infection prevention, post-op care findings and other pertinent trends. This is just my opinion and only a start. Good luck to all

Good article doc!

Thank you so much for the reply. I absolutely agree with you that family practice docs, physician assistants should not be doing injections. New Jersey actually prohibits physician assistants from doing injections but will let them assist in the operating room with much more invasive procedures which I find intriguing. While you say you have given 250,000 injections to the mouth and face I doubt the goal of them was to enhance appearance of anything other than the teeth. While I have done thousands of surgical procedures as well as injections above the chin, I don't fix cavities or fill teeth. Nor do I deliver babies, even though it was part of medical school. Could I do these things? NJ medical license lets you do all different things. In addition, plastic surgeons are trained in facial fracture repair which certainly includes the teeth. Mandible and zygoma fractures are part of plastic surgery for your information. It isn't just a specialty of breast implants and liposuction. But I stick to my specialty, and other physicians should stick to their specialties. That's just my opinion, but lots of people share it.

What about Ob/gyn doing the same???? When did the Ob/gyn learn about the face??How about the physicians assistant with min training doing the same for the Dermatologists. Why don't you pick on these less trained???And yes I as a dentist did study the face and neck extensively.
Besides, I have given over 250,000 injections to the mouth and face. How many injections have you given above the chin???

I got rid of my sweating issue and I am considerably pleased! I will not have to be self-conscious and worry about under the arm smell or drenched garments near the underarms and be ashamed to be witnessed by others.
