lol !
@Mike hayutin

Take a look at how many people were killed by Bush administration in Iraq. Not all people living in Iraq are terrorists - hardly 2%.

So, Mccain giving this speech of fear against terrorists and those people giving speeches of fear in Iraq and other muslim countries against US.

No difference!

Nowadays it's laugh or cry times; I'd much rather laugh than cry. Bernie was a great, REAL comedian who still makes me laugh till my sides hurt. Matter of fact, I'm watchin Bernie Mac right now. Bernie obviously had a sad, hard time as a child and I'm glad he could still joke and keep us all smiling and laughing with him!

Rob,
I have a suggestion you may want to warn folks about Kevin Jennings.
President Obama's pal and new appointment in the Dept. of Education. He is really a solid guy.
Rob, I am confident that President Obama never ever heard his pastor and very close friend of 20 years use the kind of language he used the other day. He said he didn't and I believe him.
What is so astounding is that anyone that claims to be a Christian would have voted for Mr. Obama.
Hey Rob why doesn't President Obama exercise his Executive authority and slap the Progressive Caucus and the ACLU by preventing the release of any more pictures of torture. When all Military Officers engaged in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan have told all involved this is extremely dangerous to our men and women soldiers, it will help our enemy not OUR SOLDIERS. These two groups are working over time to make sure that the pictures are released. Why does he not step in and stop it? What prevents him? Agree or not with the conflicts this is vile. Rob there is no question you and I are not reading the same Bible we can't be, I wish we were. I have been praying for you that you would have a change of heart.
There is much to say anymore to defend the ACTIONS of Mr. Obama.
Rob, almost forgot some 31,000 men and women many with various degree's of education and training in the study and research of the World's Climate have said there just is not definitive evidence of Global Warming. Why does President Obama believe there is? Do you think he maybe beholding too those who would gain much if his Cap and Trade legislation were passed? Do you think he made any promises to that community?
Rob, your vote for Mr. Obama empowered ACORN. Would you do business with this group? Why does Mr. Obama insist that this group be a key player in the taking of the census? Why would the President remain so close to a group that has been indicted so often. Plus has now several employees asking for an accounting of huge amounts of money that have been spent and no one seems to have any records? Is the reason because ACORN has such close ties to SEIU? These two groups I know love Mr. Obama, just look at all the money they spent getting him elected. Hope and Change.
Hey Rob Mrs. Obama has at the least two pairs of shoes that cost $1250.00 she has been to New York for a weekend and Paris. I do not have a problem with any of these. What does bother me is that I see a man who rather fancy's himself. Always a sign that inside the man is weak, that he hasn't a moral compass, a man corrupt.

Regards,

Jeff Skalla

Sharon - I struggled while writing this piece with a way to parse out the importance of the issue notwithstanding the two irrelevant players at its center. I still think the fact we often lack respect for and caricaturize people with oppositional viewpoints needs to be addressed. President Obama put it nicely in his commencement speech at Notre Dame Saturday: "Each side will continue to make its case to the public with passion and conviction.... But surely we can do so without reducing those with differing views to caricature."

The problem here is that at least one of the central players in the beauty pageant story already is a caricature, and therefore does not need reduction. But pop culture has crippled our news media to the point that it is hard to find important stories to use as vehicles for important points. So I worked with what I had.

The Prejean quote, by the way, is accurate. Reading it, however, is a different experience than hearing it. A friend once warned that intelligent people sometimes unwittingly impute their intellect when trying to interpret the words of people who may not have been speaking very intelligently. Perhaps in interpreting Prejean's remarks, I failed to heed that warning. I do think that the view she expressed at the pageant was nowhere near worthy of the reaction she received because of it.
