I read teh St. Louis Review article several months ago and saved a copy on my desk hoping to find out more about the Guild. I'm interested in bringing more reverence and prestige to servers in our parish (Hols Spirit in Maryland Heights) and the Guild sounded like an excellent means. However, the article gave no clue to how to get involved. Can you or someone from your parish point me in the rioght direction?

Comment on Cardinal Burke Pastoral Visit by Ed

Cardinal Burke's wearing the miter with his mozetta for a pastoral visit is inappropriate. The miter is reserved strictly for liturgical functions. However, Burke's penchant for "dress up" is obvious from the many photos published of him.

This is not a major issue, but I like to think that a prelate has some concern for the manner in which his attire might be perceived beyond the confines of the event at which he is photographed.

Traditionalists are right to demand the use of the "extraordinary" form of the liturgy. That is far different from approving of extra-liturgical clerical vesture that the pope has ordered suppressed or using vestments outside their proper place.

Burke should rethink the manner in which he appears in public.

Hello Mrs. Warner, Thank you for your inquiry. Mass times are Sunday mornings at 7:30, 9:00 and 11:00 am.

All the Services at Ss. Gregory and Augustine are held in the Chapel located in the St. Anselm Parish Centre. The Monks of St. Louis Abbey in addition to our work for the community at Ss. Gregory and Augustine also operate and staff the St. Louis Priory School and St. Anselm’s Parish at the Abbey. Until the time we are in a position to build a permanent home, the Archdiocese of St. Louis and St. Anselm’s have made it possible for us to use the space in the basement of their parish centre. Entrance. For Weddings and Funerals we have the use of the Abbey Church.
