interesting. I've had this product for 5 years already. I broke one blade but I do have a pack of refills waiting to be used. I used this mainly for circle labels that were too big for the tins I bought. It worked fine. I've used it on paper and photos. I even used this on felt (not craft felt, mind you). Maybe you got the defective one? Mine still works like a charm.

I realize this is an old post, but I just stumbled across this blog and love it! I wanted to put in my two cents worth regarding Aleene's tacky glue. The fact that you pour the glue out into a dish probably helps shorten the drying time, as well as make it easier to spread, since such a large surface area is being exposed to air that way.

Hey, Kate! You didn't leave an email address on my site to respond to your question in the comments section, so, I thought I'd pop in to tell you, "yes"! Warm hugs, Julie
