The newer client just effed up my addons to the max. Last night I was playing fine. Had a windows update while I was sleeping off my hangover and I get back and curse thinks I have 2 Wow's and all my addons are gone except Pally Power which I uninstalled last night?

I've been Fury for the longest time, my first suggestion, learn Prot. It's hard to get in runs as melee as most raids enjoy the dps given by DK's and Druids. As a fury warrior, your DPS is usually lower, I've never had highest DPS on Raids. Sucks I know. The depreciation you lose from the duel wield at first isn't that great but if you never had it, you won't notice it. (10%) I was reading and I have my hit at 220+ and still get parried on whites on the bosses, you need 7-8% on hit along with the 33% Crit. Some other things I have to say about your posts are the +34 str gem is only if you are a JC which is good to have, however, I believe there isn't much difference between a JC and BS at lvl 80 as a +2 STR from the JC gems really doesn't equal that much increase in DPS.(.25) So for lvling, it's better to be a BS, then when you are able to change and increase your JC fast (lot's of gold), then I would switch, however, since I have some Ulduar patterns, I feel I'll keep my BS and just suffer through the 2STR I don't have. I know I bounced around but I hope this helps out. Listen to the above post by Abovohawk, sounds like they know what they are talking about.

First of all the one who made this topic seems to be getting the picture. Fury warriors will surpass arms warriors when Ulduar geared or better.

I am very experienced fury warrior myself and fury warrior IS NOT hit reliable. Fury warriors should only get hitrating if they are below 190 hitrating. when they are above that hitrating they are yellow hitcapped and since HS actually works as your autoattack hitrating stack very bad and dont give much dps gain. This is why fury warriors actually is one of the melee classes who needs hitrating the least after hitting yellow hitcap. Strength>ArP>Crit>Expertice>Haste and hitrating

This is atleast in my experience the way prio stats :D

I have never played WoW; a rare perspective but perhaps for you a fresh 1.

First, about Vanilla WoW love. I don't think the changes later on in the game have much to do with how you feel. When WoW was first out, for you it was "a world". A place to explore, full of mysteries and unknowns. And most people were in the same boat. This is the same for every MMO. But as time grew, you have seen everything already. The immersion, the "worldness" of the game fades and you are left with a game to play, instead of a world to experience and explore. With all the websites and info and tutorials out there, the entire experience was demystified. That's why I think you feel the way you do, for WoW and other MMOs.

From my fresh eyes, this is actually a good point for me to jump into WoW. I follwed the game since it was announced but didn't play it. By the time it released I just didn't want to get into an MMO anymore. I have a UO and EQ background so I know a thing or 2 about grinds and I was sick of it; didn't really feel like paying a monthly fee to grind for months. So I waited.

Waiting was worse, since the more you wait, to more you are behind. When everythings been done, everythings been demystified and listed on websites, when half a server consists of near max and max level characters... theres even less incentive for a newcomer to join the game (at least for me). It'll be a long grind to catch up. I notice that by this point, I'm already thinking about the endgame. Even without playing the game, the fact that the world is full of max level ppl who have raided the top dungeons many times, is in itself a factor that pushed the game towards "endgame focused". The context of WoW changed because of its maturity. And even an outsider like me felt it.

But now, the level grind is fast, and from some people's comments even fun. That, for a newbie like me, is a great time to join. I get to play through everything, with no aritificial downtime, and get to the endgame content in reasonable time. The last time I was this tempted to play was back when I was waiting for Blizzard to release new info on the game.

But then, now theres also Aion and a lot of Free games to choose from...

I’d have to agree that charging users for a functionality such as “updating all addons” is rather unreasonable, especially since it had been previously free. I haven’t tried the client, but I’d hope they’ll come up with better/unique incentives than this gimmick to entice users to sign up for the Premium service.

You probably won't publish this anyway as I see you have quit the game and blog, but I thought this was a pretty interesting discussion. PTD, you certainly liked to play with fire in your time. You do mention your thought is more for average raiding/casual guilds, not hard core raiding guilds, so that would certainly play a part. I've seen casual raid guilds think DKP is the way to go, but casual raiders were basically discouraged even though that was the point of the guild. Good stuff, and good luck in life with your family.
