Usman, Thanks for speaking the truth, slowly but surely Buhari is being exposed, he does not mean well for the north or south, but just his mad dream of wanting to be president again, Buhari will soon be a miserable old man, with a lot of blood on his hands and no time or willingness to apologize for the pain and atrocities he has caused Nigerians. Northern leaders now need to develop a social contract with citizens and seek their best interest. As a Nigerian who grew up in Zaria, Sokoto, Gusau, Maiduguri, etc in the 60s/70s. and cherish my memories of the north, it is so sad to read about what is going on. Please everyone should be sincere about stopping this madness in the north, otherwise the region will not find its feets again and become more economically and socially disadvantaged..

If this phone thief dare die by hanging, Nigerians should be rest assured that all the Legislators, both serving and former: members of executives serving and former: Corrupt State Governors serving and former that are found to found wanting even with N1:00 will all die by hanging. This goes for all serving and former State Governors; Head of State and Presidents; Members of House of Senate and House of Representative… the list is endless. They must all be tied to the DRUM and shot. That is the only way that this GREAT country can be moved forward.
So it must be.

May i advise some of the responders or commentators on this paper that refuse to be oblective, to please stop misleading the Nigerian Public. The issue at stake is not what Buhari did or didn’t do but the security of the Nation- Nigeria. We have been so disillusioned not to face reality, the next election should not be who did what, but who can keep Nigerian save? Buhari has good history when it comes to transparency, reliability and consistency than any of the existing ex- presidents of Nigeria. Let’s be realistic , it is time we walk circumspecfully, particularly the so called Christians, let us unify our desire for peace , without peace there may be no Nigeria. Good luck fellow Nigerians.

Udofia, agreed that this man is an un-repentant fool of a criminal, we must always stand by what is right, he deserves to be judged only by his last crime, a death penalty would also have been deserving of him if the victim had lost her life in the attack, it is only in Nigeria that only those who kill for the stomach are labeled murderers while those politicians who kill for power via ritual walk the streets as kings and princes, do not be confused, no one in his right mind will support a crime of any nature but hey! let the guy be judged for his latest crime

What prompted the court of appeal to set aside the death sentence in the first place? Where in the world has anyone been sentenced to death for robbery? did he kill anyone in course of his past robbery escapades? if not, then i think the court of appeal was right to have set aside the death penalty handed to him by the high court but again, all crimes must be met with the appropriate punitive measure, this man should only have been tried based on his latest crime and not for his past crimes for which a ruling has been reached. He must only be punished for robbing the woman of a handset and not for his past crimes.
