Lolita is a definite favourite, slightly tarnished by a plane journey I once took. I was re-reading and the slightly eccentric gentleman sitting next to me yammered on about it obsessively for over two hours. Sometimes you don’t *want* or *need* to know every reference to take in the wonder of the text.

I read The Tenant of Wildfell Hall entirely on your recommendation and I LOVED IT.
