Great point. What a challenge to know the difference between a prodigal bent on wasting potential and a sheep straying. God give us wisdom!

Peter,

It's interesting that you take such a defensive stance on this. I haven't noticed a "bandwagon" here, or anywhere else, honestly. What I have noticed is a very broad range of emotional and intellectual responses both on this blog and in the Church in general... responses that are mostly heart-felt and honest, both for and against the re-gaining of organizational license.

I do take serious issue with your assertion that preaching/teaching/speaking against something indicates a personal problem with it. If that were the case, the entire scripture would be full of hypocritical writ.

If you have anything of substance to add to the discussion, I'd be glad to entertain it, Peter.

I wonder how many of the "preach it, Brother" bandwagon are secretly looking at porn at home? The greater your personal anger at something, the more likely it's in your own life.

The collegial model either struggles to develop unity or becomes a "old boy network" or both.

So true, Brother. There is great reward in simply fulfilling the Great Commission, whatever capacity of ministry it may be.

I appreciate you so much, friend!

God delivered the Hebrews from Pharoah's army, but they still had to continue forward into their promise.

God's grace is his power to become. He calls, therefore he enables. We need to respond in faith and add to our faith the required activities to become.

2 Peter 1:3-8 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you and abound, they shall make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jay.

In reconsidering this excellent post, I thought that this really define the success of the saint as well as the pastor and minister. Everyone born into the kingdom is called to find the bride for the master. To "go ye". To go into the highways and byways and compel them to come.

Finding the bride and equipping her to keep her oil full and lamp trimmed - the calling of the saint and the preacher.

So true. It's like what Jude said in Jude 23. "Some save with compassion, making a difference. Others pulling then out of the fire. Hating the garment spotted by the flesh." Some need gentle treatment, others need tough love, Lord help me know which approach to use in each case!

This powerful message for redemption helps me a lot.
I am Daniel L. Parrot, a young Christian Filipino from Davao City Philippines. I shall be sent by my world mission ministry Every Nation for a 14-day mission in Vietnam on October. And God has just revealed to me to preach this message to the people of Vietnam. Thanks for this source and may God bless you abundantly! Prayers and Solus Christos!
