Very interesting comments. Curious... if you had a chance to add something big and futuristic to DisneyWorld and/or DisneyLand... what would it be? Something about space? Underwater? Floating cities on the oceans? What?

The last time I visited DisneyWorld was in the early 90s. I remember coming out of Horizons and there was this presentation area to walk through. I distinctly remember seeking a large model of a mobile scientific platform for exploring Antarctica on display. I felt like a two year old at Christmas.

The sketches show me so much more than the paintings. Herb said to be "specifically vague" and look at the power your imagination is allowed to have with these images. I am blown away by the calf and leg of the womb he drew in the upper drawing, right in the middle. Perfectly proportioned and most likely an eight of a second of his time to suggest her leg. Underneath the hood that man was a master draftsman. When you squint you see the whole thing. He knew Italy enough to suggest the architecture and give us something to finish in our minds. You can't fake talent and experience.

Nice to see, and further fuels my admittedly unrealistic dream that a Doctor Who attraction will materialize in the UK pavilion at Epcot.
Of course, for that to happen Disney would have to have some stake in the Who media universe, wouldn't they?

Excellent points. I was blown away when I realized that "Design for Dreaming" and "Once Upon a Honeymoon" were made in the same year. That just says SO much. And then this right on the heels.

You make a good point about how small it must have been. As a kid I assumed it had been large - a house, and all that. But the plot it was on in Disneyland was tiny, so it must have been cramped. But the glass - it was so *safe*!

The wardrobe change cracked me up. Because, of course, they were super fancy in the first place. Just another day at the park!

I had TOTALLY not heard the revolution thing the first time I watched - that is so amazing! "Don't worry about the reds, America - Monsanto has it locked down!" What incredible subtext.

I'm sure that's what they had planned. All the companies could test their prototypes and get feedback from real consumers!
