I can't believe you two both got sucked into that! I am laughing my ass off right now.

First off, Blu-ray is still inferior to HD-DVD in every way.

Second, that sounds like the kind of weird fact Jeff would pick up somewhere, but I have absolutely no memory at all of discussing peanut butter in China, but it did make me laugh (and I can't believe Brian looked it up!).

Ok looks like some brands were banned in china with the salmonella outbreak 3 years ago, http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2007-02/25/content_812859.htm which leads me to believe it is sold there, or else how could the ban it? :) I just had to look it up, sounded like a crazy argument.

BTW blue-ray can kiss my ass... at least until the price of a disc comes down, I refuse to pay double for the same move that looks slightly better. I hope digital download kills it in the end, but thats a whole other argument.

I love it! I can TOTALLY see Jay arguing with someone over whether or not peanut butter is sold in China. In fact, Jay is the only person I know that would involve himself in such an argument. I can even see his face as he gets increasingly mad when you disagree with him! ;P Right on, buddy.

I would agree with you about the combat not being part of it, and I think thats where they loose me. There are times where they force you into a 8 vs. 1 senerio, and it just feels clunky, and really bothers me, because the sneak assasination is really good and fun, and solid they should have just stuck with that, and evoved that further rather than trying to force it into something it's not. Mostly I think we agree, the story is deep and interesting, and the world is like you said engrossing, but it just seems clunky in parts. I also can't stand timed missions, especially when you have to deal with what I could consider less than perfect camera and controls. Don't get me wrong, there are some very good parts to this game, I love the side stuff with the view points, and the town restoration, weapon upgradeds and other rpg elements etc. I'm just disappointed because I think I could have been better. Just because a game has a good story doesn't excuse poor game play. I also agree the "me too" shooter is way way over done these days. BTW we quit final fantasy, thats why I have more time to play other games :)

hey there jay. haven't talked to you in a long time. just curious. it sounds as thought you've gave into the pressure, and have started supporting blu ray.....or have you. i thought that you liked HD - DVD more. you once told me that HD DVD was better for the consumer. also i talked to Dan McGuiness and he told me that one day you got into an argument with his brother jeff in regards to whether or not peanut butter was available for purchase in china. what was dan getting at when he said that?

AC2 isn't that great? OK, I lost you right there :)

It may not be what you expected, or wanted, but Assassin's Creed 2 is, without a doubt, a high water mark for the year in games. The combat may not be the greatest, but it tries for something original and different, a brave move in a world of, "me too" shooters. And it really isn't about combat. It's about the perfect assassination. One where the enemy doesn't even know you are there. Those are immensely satisfying.

It's about a world that really feels alive. Never has a game captured a time and place so well, and such a unique time and place! Again, unlike all the, "me too" shooters set in world war II, or the Modern Warfare clones.

Don't jump into Mass Effect expecting a great shooter. The shooter mechanics are solid as hell, but that's not the point. The point is an amazing, engrossing story, investment in your character (and party's) progression, and a truly vibrant Sci-Fi universe as rich as most novels.

Well, good news friend. The news is absolutely true. Chris Cornell himself has confirmed it.

What isn't known it what this will result in. New album? Just a tour? I don't know, but what I do know is just what you said, we just don't see bands like Sound Garden anymore, and maybe they can teach some of the youngsters a thing or two. :)

Ok, you talked me into it, but I'm still a little gun shy after assasins creed 2, (not that you talked me into it, but I was lured by your interest in it) really, that game isn't that great. The idea is cool, and the open environment is cool, and the graphics are amazing, but way way too many glitches, bad camera angles, some absurdly stupid missions and crappy fighting system. Maybe I need a good FPS to get the bad taste out of my mouth, but I need to finish AC2 first, so by that time I might need some scope too in order to get that taste out of my mouth... :)

Dude,
I've always criticized exagerated fans of any kind, I've never felt any bands deserve that much. I've always criticized those empty headed teens crying for their idols. I've always criticized comebacks...never thought their were trust worthy. I love music but hate concerts...standing up in a crowd...I'd rather watch a DVD.

Well I guess I am a huge ass HYPOCRATE because the news of a soundgarden comeback almost made me cry...really! I was truly emotional...I guess fans of WELL CRAFTED SONGS were orfans for a long time now...this band is something RELEVANT in the course of Rock'n roll music....PLEASE MAY THIS NEWS BE TRUE!
