Great article. I'm amazed at how many people are signing the petition without thinking about the context in which Dr. Evans may have broached the subject of bat fellatio with his colleague. The account of the complaint made has been hugely oversimplified - the complainant had a lot more to say than 'he talked about bat boners'. It's outrageous that this sexual harrassment complaint has been framed as an academic freedom issue.

I doubt that I will get to it.

Basically, we used the free service with 4INFO to setup a number that people could SMS with feedback. This was pushed to a Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/fuse_mosaic). We sent the RSS of the twitter feed through a custom Yahoo Pipe in order to get an RSS feed that we fed into a screensaver. This was then projected onto the wall of the gallery, giving people immediate access to other people's comments and their own.

My academic history is seemingly pretty sporadic. I started my undergrad in Music Therapy at ASU, playing the oboe. Switched to engineering, then decided I wanted to understand how we perceive and experience music from an analytical perspective. Started working in neuroscience labs, graduated with a degree in Bioengineering, and did an honors thesis on auditory feedback in birdsong production. And here I am. I don't know if you caould say that I "recently" took the plunge... I've going this direction for a while now.

Maybe you listed it elsewhere on your blog, but what does your academic history include? I just came across your page randomly and always wanted to know what might get some set on a certain path in the medical field. Since you only recently took the plunge, what got you where you are?

Great article. I found this free template for writing cover letters that Diane Garnick wrote. I guess emails are the new cover letter.

Justin - agreed with all of the above. The worst part is not only did I have to "un-packrat" all my stuff when I moved from AZ, but I also lost a portion of my undergrad career to a computer failure and some incorrectly backed up information.

The YJIA staff hasn't uploaded the back issues yet. I think they are going to be compiling the files and abstract this summer to get them uploaded.
