Thanks for the post Chief Shark. Send others to add posts, which help more people know what's going on in that beautiful old building. If people want to rent space, who should they contact? Maybe we can help rent some space and help the cause.

The building is not coming down. I am a member of the S.U.P. . It is an active union hall, it is our unions main office infact. It also has office spaces for rent. The building is a historic landmark and protected. It is a beautful building and will be around a long time for people to enjoy.

Thanks Rob. It's great you have interest. I heard the building is coming down, which is sad. It was such a treat to have been allowed inside ... and to grab some photos too.

I know this is an older post, but I came across it because I randomly found someone on Yelp referencing Maritime Hall as a former rock venue, and went researching it. I work right around the corner, and had always wondered what was in there, so it was a delight to see some of the great interior shots you got.

Anyway, in my search for more information I came across another site with concert posters from shows at Maritime Hall from the mid-90's until it closed in 2001, and I thought people might be interested in some of the building's history as a rock venue before the neighborhood began its transition.

Anyway, thanks for the interior photos. Very interesting.

[...] 8 minute mini parade video … off the sidelines of Gay Pride This little parade will give you a rare sampling of every type of person you can imagine … every age, gender, type and orientation. Watch the whole thing. It’s worth it. A friend and I were just waiting to meet other friends, after the parade and a little Champagne. I was sitting on a curb, listening to the music at the stage down the street and just people watching and this is what I caught. [...]

Hi. Your link to the Gay Pride Parade video isn't working. It looks like it's a copy of the link above to the Bay to Breakers race.

Thank you for your comment Salome!

I'm so happy that you found your Dad on my blog. I've seen Don at a variety of places here in San Francisco and even hired him to play at a party once. He's a wonderful man and you should be proud of him. I see him at the Ferry Building and we still speak. I'll let him know you saw him on my blog. Yes, please let me know when you two get together and I'd love to post a little something about both of you on my blog.

Hello Randy,

My name is Salome Serena, and I applaud you for continuing in your own right to maintain a level of consistency within the artist world, and jazz promotion! I am one of the daugters of Don Cunningham, and this is wonderful to see the thought going into promoting my father! Email me when you get an opportunity, and maybe we can set up something where I can join my father to play music together! Maybe you could shoot some footage...we'll see.
By the way, I am a musician in North Carolina, following in my father's musical footsteps. I currently play the alto and tenor saxophone, flute, sing, and work at WNCU 90.7 FM; a jazz member supported radio station.

I look forward to speaking with you!

Peace,

Salome Serena Wiley
