Thanks a lot, it is a great plugin. However, I cannot get the links to display correctly. I like the way they display on your page with the little arrows, on my page instead the link is with previous/next post title – have a look. What could I do?

Is there a plugin where the user selects a Category and then has the option of reading posts from the oldest entry to the newest entry rather than the Word Press default of newest to oldest?

Its a combination of genetic predisposal and how u live (diet, sports, etc). Many times is confused with and epididymis inflamamtion (my case some years ago).

I just recently started blogging and have found wordpress to be a nice intro into it. I haven’t found any limitations to it but then again, I have only just started.

I plan on taking some PHP courses in the future so maybe then I’ll understand what limitations you are talking about.

Hi,
Thanks for this great plugin.
1. I checked the third option and the links don’t appear after the comments. Is that an incompatibility with my theme or any incompatibility with a comment plugin?
Plugins I use:
midasoracle.org/about/software/
2. In my view, the two links (backward and forward) are too close from each other. There should be a wider space between the two, or maybe some arrows…

I was wondering what you needed to do in order to use images OTHER than the ones included with this plug in?

I’ve managed to edit the plug in to the point where it doesn’t show the text for the link, but I can’t get the images I want to use to show at all.

Is there a size limitation? Have to use just a PNG file and nothing else?

Please help, I am 99.9 % done and this is the last little thing I need!

I feared as much. My web host (xwebhosting) says they can only upgrade me to php5 if I move my account (a dozen websites) onto a new server and point the nameservers there. Too much hassle for now.

If there’s a better alternative to Wordpress, people will switch to it… and I can’t wait! A bit of competition here will beneift bloggers the most.

In response to Saman & Nick in regards to WordPress:
My BIGGEST dislike – they have not joined or agree with the gophp5 movement. They refuse to drop the reliance of php4 code. It is irresponsible and malicious to use coding styles that have since been upgraded, improved, made more secure. php4 will officially no longer be supported very soon. No longer supported means that any security flaws, bugs, or anything of that sort will no longer be fixed. Wordpress absolutely needs to upgrade to php5 coding! php6 will be released just about the same time as php4’s demise. Is it a whole lot to ask for them to simply upgrade their code? Many other php based CMS setups have pledged the upgrade to php5, including one of the other big ones – Drupal.

Wordpress also is not structured in a way that you would expect the number one blogging app to be coded. If you look at the code, there is little to no OOP coding. Much of the coding is structured in a way that it eats up much more of the system resources than necessary.

Thats a little there for you both to mull over – I just think they are being irresponsible with all the people that use them – thats all.

Hey Bruce!
I wanna thank you for your offer to help. After taking a closer look at the style sheet, I was able to figure out the problem:
It was trying to get the style sheet info from
?>/wp-content/plugins/bobsnav/style.css"
instead of
?>/wp-content/plugins/bobs-simplistic-navigation/style.css"

Yes, as Bruce just said there, his error came down to the wordpress standard variable path not being honored and causing the stylesheet to fail. Sorry, I have been very out of it for a long time…. What is your new blog, I can check it out and see if the issue is the same on yours.

Hey Kelly, this "IS" Bruce! Regarding the failure of the plugin to work properly for me (initially), Bob did suggest a possible cause for this (see his response above)… but in the end my web designer (who is a total geek when it comes playing around with Style Sheets, code, scripts etc… managed to resolve the issue for me. If you get stuck, let me know and I will ask him how he did it then get back to you:)

It is because the style sheet is failing to import.

Using WordPress standard structure and your settings, it is trying to import the stylesheet from:
http://www.compasspropertyinvestments.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/bobsnav/style.css

But that address fails to load the style sheet for this plugin. Do you have anything enabled or any weird structure that would cause that to fail?

Yep, I’m shocked! I have spent the best part of four fruitless hours trying to get Bob’s Simplistic Navigation plugin to work properly in ANY of my blogs.

But it is being very stubborn!

Bottom-line is this: I upload the folder to my plugins directory; activate the plugin in my blog’s admin>>>plugin area… and then publish four or five short "test posts" to see what the nav links look like.

But guess what???

The LINKS are there – right where I want them to be (below where "Comments" would normally go)… but there are two problems:

1) The "Previous" and "Next" links are almost ‘touching’ each other!!!

2) The cute little "blue arrow" icons are NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!!! (NB: I see them "plain as day" in the folder I uploaded to the blog… but the just WILL NOT come crawling out of their .png files and show everyone their colors!!!).

I tried mucking around with a few different CHMOD settings… I tried uploading the same plugin to a couple other blogs of mine (all Wordpress, of course); I deleted the download files and redownloaded the zipped folder again, then went through the entire process again…and again…and again…

But I just cannot get the blue arrow icons to show their faces…and I have an issue with the two Nav links being so close to each other they’re nearly holding hands!
