[...] Rejuvenate Magazine is another great resource for Christian meeting planners and in a recent issue, they published “The all out no holds barred straight forward fundamental carefully chosen feverishly compiled complete list of useful meeting planning advice”, I know it’s a mouth full but great advice none the less. I thought I would break it down by area and we’ll take a few months to get thru all of it and maybe even add some of our own. For those of you who can’t wait, click here.
Those of us who plan within the military environment have faced similar restrictions as a governement agency. New "interpretations" to policy are constantly re-evaluated and passed along to contractors /planners. The muffin example is a true annoyance. What was once a roll in to the contract as a service, as part of a F&B is now restricted since it could be considered a perk and construed as influence from the contractor! Lately the path of least resistance is eliminate all F&B, set up an ale carte, charging premium rates. Frustrating is the word of the day!

Have you ever attended TED? Because I certainly didn't feel like a subject being lectured to when I attended. I felt like an engaged participants getting a sneak peak into some fascinating thinking delivered by brilliant minds via concise and honed presentations. TED sessions fill your mind with diverse interdisciplinary insights sprinkled with artistic performances then turn the community loose into extended breaks where the informal conversations are passionate, charged, and purposeful. TED is true to its tagline/purpose: ideas worth spreading. The format they use brings that to life in a way that while looking old-school and traditional by meeting design standards, is 100% appropriate and very effective.

Thanks for publishing this. Now we have to do it! And another note: the other night on the news, we saw how so many retail spaces at shopping malls are vacant and how they are now being used - for aquariums (aquaria?!), science museums, play spaces (one that is all trampolines all the time!), and more. Whose got big bucks to take one of these great spaces and create a place for meetings - informal and formal - that can be changed and flexed on whims and plans?

Hi Honey,

Thank you for sharing this nice acknowledgment with the family.

We have always been pleased and proud of you, not only for your accomplishemets and success, but we also rejoice in the wonderful qualities that have helped to bring you that success in your career, such as your fun and pleasing personality, your sterling character and integrity.

You have always been a hard worker; and how nice you have been able to devote yourself to something you have found to love and enjoy and are good at.
