Jennifer, I attended the Chick-fil-a Leadercast and was so impressed that they started the day off with Andy Stanley. As a speaker I identified with the advice he gave to improve your speaking skills. Listen back to the presentation and if it was videoed then watch it back. Sometimes it helps to have people who have your best interests at heart also watch it and give feedback. I have found it is not what I have to say that needs the improvement but how it is said or my body language is not enhancing the message I am trying to convey.
As a meeting planner, knowing your speaker as best as possible can be such an asset. You can make them look and sound so much better if you can set the stage for their style of speaking!

For certain Social Media has changed the way we feature our destination and let everyone know that Mesa is a great destination for Meetings and Events. However, we are excited when we assist those organizations we serve in reaching out to their attendees. We work to be an extension of our customers' team where Social Media is concerned.

[...] The Tech Tools Planners Need Now By Jennifer Garrett Developing a technology guide for meetings is like trying to wrap your arms around the Internet. Even defining “event technology” is difficult: Does it include software used in preparation for a meeting, organization tools for planners, gadgets and hardware used on-site, and social media? We’ve highlighted some of the hardware, software, apps and web-based technology you need to know about now or in the very near future to help you plan better meetings, but you’ll have to pick up the March/April issue of Connect magazine to see the complete guide.
