On May 12th 2008, Janine Solanki signed a lengthy contract electronically for what a Gisol representative indicated would be a very advantageous price of under $100 and gave our credit card for this transaction.

The following month the credit card was debited by Gisol for 1798.20.

A dispute was registered to our card company - Visa - and the charge was reversed.

Refus, from Gisol, sent suporting documentation to Visa showing that Janine had agreed to pay the over $1700.

On the bases of this a charge was made against our account once more.

Visa sent us a copy of both contracts to support their decision. It was immediately apparent to us that Gisol had forged Janine's signature from the first one.

On Sept. 5th 2008, I sent this information to Gary Kaplan, LA County Sheriffs office and to our credit company. I also filed a complaint with the Surrey RCMP.

To date I have not received anything back from LA.

Visa is also stating the their file is closed.

These bums cost me besides money and aggravation my two domain names that I searched, picked and paid for.

I could not transfer them as they called them THEIR intellectual property. Let me assure you the word intellect is totally alien to this band of criminals.

To top it off one of my domain names was my own name. The sooner these bastards get shut down the better.

Quick Post

GISOL finally possibly getting shut down?

I am a current customer of GISOL, have been for 4 years now, and have not been ripped off yet. My site reliability has of course been shoddy, but for the price I was willing to take it.

But, recently I went to add a domain alias for a new domain I purchased elsewhere(How I get around their insane 42 dollar a year domain charge, and luckily how they don't have my domains under their name.) I tried to add it for the setup cost of $5, and got the message "Error processing credit card: The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive."

This has been happening all week and seems to say to me that whoever they use to process online transactions has disabled their account. After getting nowhere with their horrible customer service, I did a search for them on the internet and found this website. Needless to say it freaked me out, so I immediately backed up all my MYSQL databases to my home computer and changed my credit card and contact on file with them to a completely fake stuff. Since their credit card processing server is down, it couldn't tell they were fake, got the same message when I did that.

I remember when I first signed up back in December 2005, someone called me to talk about my new address. They kept trying to tell me to upgrade to the 49.95 plan, because it was for businesses. When I told them no, I'll just stick to the plan I signed up for online, the guy on the phone got almost insulting. "You don't want to have a PROFESSIONAL business?" and stuff like that. I eventually just hung up on him mid-call, and nothing came of it, I always assumed he was from some other company that had gotten my domain contact info.

I'm looking into switching to a real webhost as soon as possible.

Hopefully this canceled processing account means the end of GISOL is near, just thought I'd share a maybe hopeful story to everyone who's been ripped off here.

As a bonus, here's my interaction with their horrible outsourced customer service about trying to tell them their credit card processing account has been disabled. It gets pretty mean there at the end, but even for an outsourced customer support, these guys are awful.

[Jun 22, 2009 12:20:22 AM]
Q: I am trying to purchase a new domain alias, but it is not allowing me to do so. Keeps giving me the error: "Error processing credit card: The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive."
[Jun 22, 2009 1:36:20 PM]
A: Dear Customers please contact our admin dept to order new domain names.

Thank You
Gisol Inc

Admin Dept: 1-323-924-1109
[Jun 22, 2009 1:57:35 PM]
Q: No, I don't want to order a new domain name. I want to set up a domain alias on one of my subdomains. I can do this from the website, but now it says your merchant ID is invalid, which I would guess is something on your credit card processing system. Will this be fixed soon? If not, how do I go about adding features to me account now?
[Jun 22, 2009 3:22:36 PM]
A: Dear customer, to understand you correctly please tell us which steps you follow to get to this error!

Thank You
Gisol Inc
[Jun 22, 2009 3:40:22 PM]
Q: Well, from the control panel I click Domains, then the settings for my subdomain xxxx.xxxx.com, and then the add domain alias button. It says I am about to enable domain alias, and it will cost 5 dollars, bringing my account to -$10, and I will have to pay $10. I say ok, and type in the domain alias I would like, xxxx.com.

I then hit submit and it then gives me the error "Error processing credit card: The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive."
[Jun 22, 2009 5:47:48 PM]
A: Dear Customer,

Thank You, for providing us all the needed information.

It looks like your package does not allow you to have multiple Domain aliases.

Your only option is to upgrade your account.

If you would like to upgrade your account please contact our admin dept by emailing them admin@gisol.com or calling them 1-323-924-1109.

Thank You
Gisol Inc
[Jun 22, 2009 6:29:37 PM]
Q: This is not correct. I currently have 4 domain aliases, so I can obviously have multiple domain aliases. I realize I have to pay a $5 setup fee on them, as I have done every time in the past and shows up on my price sheet for my account. But, it is not letting me do this because of the above error message.

"Error processing credit card: The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive."

This sounds like it's a problem on your end with whoever you use to process credit cards online. Either your account with them is expired, or for some reason it's just not completing the transaction.
[Jun 22, 2009 6:37:07 PM]
A: That is incorrect,

You have Standard Domains=1, limit=1
Subdomains=5 limit=10

If you would like to add another domain you will have to upgrade your package.

Thank You
Gisol Inc
[Jun 22, 2009 6:53:31 PM]
Q: Yes, I have one STANDARD DOMAIN registered to the account, but I am trying to add a DOMAIN ALIAS. I currently have FOUR of these on my account(xxxx.com, xxxx.com, xxxx.com, and xxxx.com), and have added and removed at least two others during my time with your hosting service. There is no stated restriction for domain aliases, and even if so I deleted one 2 months ago without trouble, so that spot should be free to add another one.

You are obviously not understanding my issue, please forward me on to someone else who can go into my account and see what I am talking about. If you go into my subdomains, you will see the domain aliases. I can provide screenshots of the pages with what a domain alias is if you need further clarification.

As I said before, the option is there to add the domain alias, but the system is not completing the order.
[Jun 22, 2009 7:04:14 PM]
A: Dear customer, your ticket is been transferred to our lever 2 tech support.

Thank You
Gisol Inc.
[Jun 22, 2009 7:08:25 PM]
A: level2 - Tech Support!

Domain info:
Domain aliases = 1 = xxxx.com

You have a negative balance of $5 because you added this domain to your account.

Domain aliases is not included in your package!

Please upgrade your account.

Thank You
Gisol Inc.
[Jun 22, 2009 7:28:52 PM]
Q: This customer service is really starting to frustrate me. I have 1 domain alias on my domain, which is the one you quoted me. I have had it for over 2 years. I was not billed for it because on my "Online Price" section of my account, which I am looking at as I type this, I get 2 of those free. The setup fee for a new one is $5, which I am TRYING to pay now. If that is what you mean by upgrade, then yes I am trying to do that.

I also have domain aliases CURRENTLY on my SUBDOMAINS: xxxx.xxxx.com, xxxx.xxxx.com, and xxxx.xxxx.com.

I have purchased SIX domain aliases from my customer page over the last two years, including one 2 months ago(xxxx.com on xxxx.xxxx.com), on statement 178XXXX-5, which is why I have a -$5 balance. I am usually billed for them immediately. I would like this to happen now. I have NEVER had to call the billing department for this to happen in all the times I have done it before. Please just charge me the $5 dollars on my balance so I can get this completed, as has happened every time in the past.
[Jun 22, 2009 7:32:07 PM]
A: no sir you did not buy domain aliases for sub domains. You bought actual sub domains. Now when you added xxxx.com your account was debited -5$.

If you would like to add one more domain alias you will have to pay off that $5 + pay $5 more for additional domain alias.

If you would like to do that please email admin@gisol.com

Thank You
Gisol Inc
[Jun 22, 2009 7:52:47 PM]
Q: Why would I have bought sub domains? I get 10 subdomains free, hence the limit of 10 subdomains your tech person quoted me earlier. I am currently at 5. I added the xxxx.com domain alias 2 years ago, and was not billed for it, because I get 2 of them free.

I have attached a screenshot of a billing statement from 2008. Notice how it says setup fee for DOMAIN ALIAS. Notice how it also says it 3 times, for each domain alias I set up. Notice how it also billed my credit card on file 3 times. I want this to happen now.

I will contact admin@gisol.com now, as I have had enough of this horrible customer service. I will recommend that they think about upgrading their customer service to people who can actually provide assistance instead of reading numbers off of an account screen and giving fill in the blank replies in broken english. Goodbye.
statement.jpg
[Jun 22, 2009 8:18:53 PM]
A: Level"3" - Tech Support!

dear customer, sub domain and domain alias is absolutely different things. Please do a research next time before contacting us!

Also admin has received your request and will contact you shortly.

Thank You
Gisol Inc
[Jun 22, 2009 8:36:20 PM]
Q: Thank you for another insulting reply, this time from a "level 3" person who does still not understand my problem and is as clueless as all the other levels. At which level do I face the final boss of his awful game? I know they are completely different things, did you even look at that screenshot? I don't need to do my research, as I know what I'm talking about. You guys on the other hand do not seem to whatsoever.

Here is another screenshot showing that I was billed for a DOMAIN ALIAS on 03/10/09 for xxxx.com. This was done through the website in the exact method I am trying to accomplish now for the SIXTH time. If I hadn't done this SIX times before, maybe you could call me clueless. But I have, I know that the problem is with YOUR online billing system and not my lack of knowledge.

If you can read that attachement, you will see it clearly says DOMAIN ALIAS, not subdomain, and xxxx.com. Not the xxxx.com alias, which I was never billed for, and was created TWO YEARS ago. YOU were wrong on that, just as you have been wrong on every piece of information you have provided. You do not understand my problem, and I will not be renewing my hosting package with this company again.

Hopefully that teaches them to at least think about getting a better outsourced customer support service. If you can't understand what I'm saying then at one of these "levels" someone needs to be on here who can.
screenshot2.jpg
[Jun 22, 2009 8:43:42 PM]
A: Thank you for letting us know that you do not want to renew sir, A note has been placed not to renew your account ever again.

Thank You
gisol Inc
[Jun 22, 2009 8:47:21 PM]
Q: Well at least you were able to do that correctly. Go take the 2 rupees you made from your long work day not helping people and misunderstanding english and go buy some rice and rat meat for dinner.
[Jun 22, 2009 8:54:14 PM]
A: Thank You

I have attached a screenshot of a billing statement from 2008. Notice how it says setup fee for DOMAIN ALIAS. Notice how it also says it 3 times, for each domain alias I set up. Notice how it also billed my credit card on file 3 times. I want this to happen now.

I will contact admin[at]gisol[dot]com now, as I have had enough of this horrible customer service. I will recommend that they think about upgrading their customer service to people who can actually provide assistance instead of reading numbers off of an account screen and giving fill in the blank replies in broken english. Goodbye.
A: Level”3″ - Tech Support!

dear customer, sub domain and domain alias is absolutely different things. Please do a research next time before contacting us!

Also admin has received your request and will contact you shortly.

Q: Thank you for another insulting reply, this time from a “level 3″ person who does still not understand my problem and is as clueless as all the other levels. At which level do I face the final boss of his awful game? I know they are completely different things, did you even look at that screenshot? I don’t need to do my research, as I know what I’m talking about. You guys on the other hand do not seem to whatsoever.

Here is another screenshot showing that I was billed for a DOMAIN ALIAS on 03/10/09 for xxxx.com. This was done through the website in the exact method I am trying to accomplish now for the SIXTH time. If I hadn’t done this SIX times before, maybe you could call me clueless.

If you can’t understand what I’m saying then at one of these “levels” someone needs to be on here who can.

I got the same email today, even though my account was cancelled by Gisol months ago as soon as I initiated a credit card chargeback.

Are these crooks any closer to jail?

Have any LE agencies charged them yet?

Paid for 30 Months should end Aug 5 2009.

Site went down in May. No tech support. My account is supended. Won't tell me why. I am afraid they will charge my card again in August. My account was shut off in May still down. I have moved it to another hosting place. No one will answer Email or return phone calls. I did find out an answering service picks up their tech support calls.

Dear Sirs;

I would like to join in any class action law suite against Global Internet Solutions, AKA; GISOL. I was coerced into signing up for an additional three years of service for $466.20. They claimed that I agreed to this when I first signed up for their service, however, they refused to show me the terms of service. Others have claimed that GISOL has doctored older papers to suite their purposes then presented them as false proof. Their tactics are strong and heavy handed. That is why I was intimidated into signing their forms for additional service. I am 62, and it doesn't take a lot to rattle me these days.

I want my money back, and I want these men punished.

GISOL is holding mywebsite and email hostage.

GISOL has been hosting my website for the past few years. I had odds and end problems but today blows em away...

I have been paying $28.90 per month for my hosting service, billed on or around the first of every month, automatically on my credit card. As typical, on Saturday, $28.90 was charged (and cleared my account). On Sunday my service was "Suspended" and I was sent this Email:

Subject:
Outstanding Balance Notification

Body:
Dear FirstName LastName,

Our records show that your hosting account ACCOUNT.ID.ID has had an outstanding balance since NEGATIVE_DATE.

As of CURRENT_DATE, your current outstanding balance is DISPLAYBALANCE.

Please log into the control panel at https://cp.gisol.com/ and ensure that your billing details are up to date so that your account can be renewed and y our outstanding balance paid in full.

If payment is not received by SUSPEND_DATE your account will be suspended.

Account details:
Login: ACCOUNT.LOGIN
Account ID: ACCOUNT.ID.ID
Balance: DISPLAYBALANCE

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our Sales Department at SALES@GISOL.COM.

Please note your account has an outstanding balance of -$28.90.

If payment is not made in full you will also be assessed a $139.00 collection fee and interest by the third party collection agency.

Of course I immediately call customer service and in typical GISOL fashion get no help. Finally this morning I reach someone that appears to be in the US office. He tells me that my rate has changed to "$850.00 and that I have until 5pm PST to pay it or all of our files and Emails will be deleted" I told him theres no way I am paying that! He said then "I guess you will lose all of your files". Next I told him that I will take my website to another host. He said "No you wont. We own that name and we were just leasing it to you." I have credit card statement showing that I registered that name from TUCOWS last February and NEVER authorized giving it to GISOL. So now I am stuck without my domain name or email. If you guys are suing them count me in. I estimate our damages to be about $15,000 so far.

Well Adam that is true but by the law of California, it is illegal to record a phone conversation if the person who you are recording does not know that he is been recorded. If you look at gisol.com you will see that they are in California, recording it will not help.

^^ O Clare,

You had such a chance at stabbing them in the neck, if only you asked first.

All you had to do was record the phone call (even by putting a PC microphone next to the speaker) and tracking the whole phone call.

THEN submit it to the BBB and watch how Gisol comes crawling back to mummy. What are they going to say? That it wasn’t them? I recorded it once, threatened the shit outa them and it worked.

Then “I” laughed and hung up. Sorry though, the best way to do this is to contact Mike, he has a trick up his sleeve which allows you to get your domain name back. ( a hope at least.)
