Thank you Robert for this post & I loved the video!

I know first had how damaging allowing spam post to show on a blog can be as a web developer I have had clients that permitted such post before they came to me; the reason they came to me after was to try and fix the damage that’s been done. I tell you that isn’t easy and can take a long time to clean up the search results of a site that has permitted spam.

One more thing that opens a door to is people using your site URL to create back-links to their site and their site might be pretty iffy if you know what I mean so when some one search for content relating to your site or business it will show your site linked to theirs and could hurt your site & business very badly.

Thanks again for going into detail on how a site owner can check if a comment is spam. I do as you I check Google & look at the site & email the comments are coming from before posting them to a site.

@SEO: Yes but sometimes a deep link is not going to get you approved. (I whois everyone’s site who leaves a comment, this is very important as I do not want any links on my site that have a poor link building structure) Your main link building strategy does not revolve around commenting. I have revised this strategy, because the ultimate response you want from blog commenting is the momentum.
