My concern with many supposed Christians is that they are talk and in many cases no substance. Love to talk about caring for the poor and those that can’t help themselves, but in reality they really only care if there is a manipulation or a political advantage to be gained. True Christianity is not expecting anything in return for your kindness.

Obviously, when someone engages you in a debate, you suddenly don’t believe in this statement. This tactic is typical of weak-minded liberals who can only spout the party line, and anyone who deviates from that mantra is a racist, a vandal, or some other hate-filled term. Either engage in the debate, admit you cannot or will not engage, or get off the playing field.

Roskam need not fearmonger facts about the debt and unemployment. Obama’s handling of the economy speaks for itself, massive debts and 10% unemployment. Roskam need not open his mouth, anyone who sees these numbers is fearful, or brain-dead.

Having watched Obama’s performance, I agree it was good. So is an Academy Award winning actor, but would you want him to run the country? With every Obama appearance, he reveals himself to be the empty suit he is.

Certainly the Obama/Reid/Pelosi plan moving through Congress is much preferable to seniors. It would only cut $500 million from medicare, and does nothing to stem the future bankruptcy of the system. It will also saddle our kids with mountains of debt. Reform indeed.

Yet it is okay that his opponent’s have traditionally taken a lion’s share of their donations from unions. Remember that unions only represent a very small share of voters, and half of the employees of the unions are government workers. Using your logic, Roskam’s opponents must have been in the pocket of the unions, which was probably true.

A year ago I feared O’bama was unqualified. Now my fears have come true. He had less business experience than my uncle that sold beer all his life. He believes he has money because he has checks in his checkbook. My daughter and her children will be responsible for his lack of knoeledge. I hope to have a higher standerd of living here than a third world country. Spending has to stop! The only reason first-time unemployment has gone down is their is no-one left to fire except bloated government.

If you would take the trouble to find out, you would learn that Ben is not a creationist. Nor is he an “anti-choice zealot” or a “DINO”. I like Ben because he is committed to working for economic, environmental and social justice. My support for him is not merely based in his not being Roskam, though that is indeed a point in is favor. He is a true progressive Democrat. I think it is you who is being blinded by your prejudice. You should find an opportunity to get acquainted with Ben before you write him off.

Aren’t you just glossing over the fact that he is a creationist anti-choice “progressive”? It seems you will ignore these inconvenient truths just to defeat Roskam at any cost. I don’t think we need another Democrat-In-Name-Only out there. These DINO’s have become the embarrassment of the party. Because of them, the health care effort has been largely monopolized by anti-choice zealots like another DINO named Bart Stupack.
I agree that there shouldn’t be a litmus test on the small things, but strongly assert that, yes, any one who runs as a Democratic candidate should adhere to some core principles. Being pro-choice is one of them in my opinion.
Don’t be blinded by your disapproval of Mr. Roskam. Instead of wasting time and money on an anti-choice creationist just because he calls himself a Democrat, let’s spend our efforts attracting a true progressive Democratic candidate.
