Second interview looks for a balance of technical abilities and business sense. You'll generally present a project you've worked on that demonstrated strength in both those areas. You'll then be asked a few technical questions along with a few business scenarios they'll run you through.

Good luck!

Hey Ryan. This is EXCELLENT! Thanks so much.

This runs perfectly in Firefox and Safari... However (there's always a however), it doesn't work at all in IE7/IE6.

I tried a similar script to yours that didn't look at the directory, but you would list all of the images in a row.

I have over 400 images, so your script MUST work for me! :-)

From what I can tell IE doesn't like the Image() object.

Is there a way around this? Thanks!

Comment on Dave the Dropout Contest by Ryan Price

A few more new entries:

Reed doesn't have Facebook but wanted to added his prediction:

Listed below are my reasons for Dave’s dropout date of Wednesday, October 14th, 2009:

1. The website for Centennial College’s Journalism program provides the following description:

Journalism is an exciting and challenging field of high energy, tight deadlines and diversity.

From covering breaking news to exploring the lighter side of human interest, readers depend on journalists to report events, raise issues and capture the spirit of our times.

Our three-year Journalism program - designed for high school graduates - takes you from the classroom to a full-time industry field placement [emphasis mine].

None of this makes me think that this relationship will last.

2. The only other Journalist that likes to wear plaid is Steve Smith on The Red Green Show. So Dave, it has already been done.

3. J-Bone Syrup productions can’t happen without you.

4. I agree with Jeremy on the fact that deer season opens around this time.

5. We all know that Dave is more than capable of being a successful Journalist. He is one of the smartest guys I know. So I hope you become the iconoclast of our time and prove us all wrong.

Steve Patterson: Everyone here is WAY off! Dave already knows more about writing than his professors could ever dream (this he has already begun to understand), he's already scouting locations and tracking the elusive white-tail, and the ultrabaconator's debut is simply pending the return of his mitre saw. If anything, over a series of 151 nights and several bathtubs worth of brew this summer he will angrily subscribe to a flurry of arguments against journalism- each one in a moonshines eye being valid- and will slowly abandon the idea with the passing warmth. Nay, come september dave will be a new man, a liver as strong as ten men maybe more, and with a newfound passion of entering the Fashion world at Ryerson. He will only go to class to ask out naive freshman sorority girls; here he will find the craziest of all the crazies- but somehow she'll be just crazy enough that it'll work. She'll have a baby dave who will be able to outdrink him in a few years (the genetics of tolerance), and as the working man he is will find his way to the top of his new baby's momma's dad's construction company. Here dave will rule supreme, cursing unintelligible swipes at Germany's aristocrats whilst drinking from a skull chalice he carved with his own two bloody hands.

So, my guess is he'll change his mind. :)

Matthew Molnar: Two things are going to happen within the first 2 months (just after Halloween)

1. Dave is going to scare off all the girls in the program with whom he thought he had a legit shot with while attending the first day of class....by Oct 31st, Dave would have peaked one of the girls' interest only to have her run screaming when she found out how far he is willing to go when he gets the chance to dress up!!

2. Dave will realize Journalism is not a real degree, and that there is no money in it. This, in turn, will not support his habit of binge drinking on the weekend. Dave will then finally realize where he was meant to work....at the Beer Store

So enjoy your first two months of Journalism Dave....but come November, I'll take a 24 of Heineken please
