As a follow-up on this, I discovered a few years ago that the clock movement was completely replaced by Potts in 1962. Still no explanation about the strange crest on the wall though.

I used to wear navy blue pe knickers at school and some private schools still do I enjoyed pe and the knickers never bothered me even in mixed class because boys wore nylon white shorts mmm I think todays pe kit to long bring back navy blue pe kit I still have mine and my daughter likes them and she likes wearing leotard

I remember the occasion when I was 11 years old. The local Chemist took some photos and sold them as postcards that I kept in my scrapbook for many years – lost now unfortunately. I think he hand colored them. are some of these photos them?

The Fenwicks window was 40 years old in 2011 – first one in 1971 and was Camberwick Green – the display this year was a recap of some of the windows over the years with big books in the background with various years and the name of the window on the books.

I hated my navy blue knickers,we had to wear them back in the 60′s,we had checks to make sure we were wearing them,i went to an all girls grammar school they were very strict about our uniforms.

I like the subtle irony that we all have things coming out of the tops of our heads (lamppost, water jet, monkey tree).

The Shadelet is now taller than the Bloggerwife and refers to her as “the midget”…
