If you just want to paste text into your note app then just do a simple copy and paste, just like you would on your computer. Pastebot is more for keeping track of the items you oopy if you want to and also pasting them directly to your Mac if you have one. I wrote a blog post yesterday and was able to copy a screen on my iPhone, copy it into Pastebot then paste it directly into my blogging application on my Mac. That was pretty neat. Pastebot works very well with images. I do agree the extra step of having to open up Pastebot is a pain. Also, since I am jailbroken I tried Backgrounder to see if I ran Pastebot in the background that it would automatically paste into Pastebot but that wasn't so, the action of opening Pastebot is what makes it paste into the app. It would be awesome if I could just keep it running in the background and it would pick up every copy but it isn't so. Also, Evernote syncs data, both text and photos between the iPhone and my Mac, as well as my PCs so that is another option to Pastebot and it is free. It's just the sync isn't as instantaneous as it is with Pastebot. It's an alternative, especially if you aren't jailbroken, and you want to save $2.99. I never heard of Action Menu and thank you for suggesting it. I downloaded that and Action Menu Plus ($2.99) to see if it worked with images which is doesn't but I do like that Action Menu Plus will tweet text to Tweetie and do lookups in Google.
