I really enjoyed reading through “Dhammapada” with you.It was very informative in a very simplified manner.I dislike the idea when thoughts & intellectual concepts are deliberately made difficult to understand ,very often to show off some kind of “Superior intellect” & complicating the issue & its understanding!!.
The beauty of S S lies in its simplicity and clear expressions.Thanks.

Thanks for pointing out the visual aspect of silence. What you describe is the state of meditation in which visual as well as auditory senses are at repose–”to sit and be still in all ways.”

For me, sometimes the difficult thing to remember is to endure not only aural silence but visual silence. That is, not to consider working quietly at a computer or reading a book to be experiencing silence — the information I receive visually is a kind of noise. To truly experience silence I need to step away from the distractions and information sources, to sit and be still in all ways.
