Hi Christy
I live in Anchorage and work at UAA. I used to live in Australia and before that Central California... and long before that Oahu. I made the trip down to Homer in March 2009 and got a bit of surf. Another faculty member here at UAA is also a surfer. Maybe we could all make a dash down to Homer if it looks promising some time. It is always a gamble though as the drive is 4.5 - 5 hours when the road is good... and wind swell can drop out in that time frame. Anyway.. if you are interested email me at afrjb@uaa.alaska.edu
Aloha!

Good to hear from you Wolf, you might want to try this SUP thing out. Its actually a very short learning curve to get going and quite fun in the lakes as well as the ocean. Also as the pictures show, you don't need too much of a swell and you can actually ride waves. I am using a 4/3mil suit and am actually almost too warm. This compares to a 6 mil when I am doing the regular surf thing...back to the fish.

Hi Mike, good to see you're finding time to surf with the fishing season on. the water down here in Lake Michigan Is forty two degrees despite daytime temps in the 90's and night time temps around 80 degrees F. Hope you all are doing well back there on K Bay. Wolf
