Definitely not a fan of comfortis, spinosad! It is a digested pesticide. The FDA based their approval for the product on a 90 day trial which no subjects died. It's a dry read but you can read the extended study at http://toxsci.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/67/1/144... It is kind of scary.

You may have to increase the Earth Animal dosage slightly if you are still pulling some ticks off. It's very rare for most to see ticks more frequently than lets say one every two weeks.

I use the Yeast free Earth Animal Internal powder and have also been applying the Buggone spray now that the black flies are out and ticks are fierce where we live, and I haven't seen a flea and it does help with the black flies, esp. the spray when their out bad like now. Although I have still pulled a few ticks off, I still do with frontline too . My dogges had reactions to frontline one got a really bad staff infection and everything, so not going back to that and there's a pill Comfortis but it's unsafe for any breeding dogs male and female and can cause deformity in baby pups. So how good can that be for them? Not to mention my male still reacts somewhat with Comfortis. Ugh so it was to the Animal House and I wish I had done this a long time ago:) I add the powder to all their food (Sojo's complete lol..) and give an extra spray during the day while outside and it works great!! In fact my daughter and I were outside last night at dusk and we sprayed Family OFF on us and they were still bad!! I had the other BugGone spray near by and so I used it on our clothing and it worked soooo much better. lol... Great stuff:) Thanks Animal House!!
