The attendence figures for the Blazers are radically inflated with vouchers, TONS of free tickets, and price-reduced promotions. Lund made money with advertising, not at the gate. Also, he stacked the team for a few years and when the talent ran dry, they gooned it up. The level of “hockey” played at the CHL level has been decreasing nearly every year IMO and I for one welcomed the Barons when the came to town.

Very interesting. I’ve posted several comments criticizing O’Brien on different boards today and I think he’s a pretty bad defender who should leave the team after this season. Still, I like him a lot (skill is not everything) and I love to read things like the part about him and Olver in this article. He’s the guy I criticize but want to prove me wrong every day. I’m a huge fan of Olver so this article makes me think: klozge 0, SOB 1. And I like it. Thanks for posting this.

It’s because of the Jackets and everyone expecting the Avs to have flamed out by then. Can’t blame NBC but can ask for rights to be lifted so the people who care can see the game.

if i follow shanahan’s logic, it would appear as though the difference in the whitney hit on clutterbuck versus the porter/booth encounter is that whitney can be seen trying to throw a shoulder check whereas porter led with the leg only.
