Do you just run 12 volt appliances off of that external 12 volt adapter, or do you plug in a small power inverter to get ac power? I was thing about getting a 2 watt solar panel, a $30 12 ah SLA battery and a cheap charge controller (I already have a couple inverters laying around + 12 volt fans). I also bought a xantrex power source solar 400, which is a battery pack with an inverter and a 5 watt panel. It still won't beat your set up though. That’s a neat little setup and pretty affordable. The solar panel and charge controller I got of eBay, 4.5 watt solar panel. I drilled a hole in the lid to feed the wires from the solar panel inside to the charge controller. Also driller a hole to feed the wires in for the cigarellte adaptor (which I got at Walmart also). 2 10 amp / hr batteries from Battery Plus store.
