It is so easy to fall into a rhythm of avoiding people because we think it is easier to not talk with them, but think about it: every time we see someone (that we routinely avoid, or want to avoid) we have to plan how to avoid them, divert eyes, act busy, and supress the Spirit's prodding us to talk. Rather, if we get to know the people we are around often it is refreshing to walk up and talk with them, just like the friends we have now.

Great review Matt! This book a very well thought articulation of 'What is the Gospel.' It's been a joy to read it, reflect on it in my own life and praise God for Christ. The whole concept of God (Holy & Righteous), Man (wicked and rebellious), Christ (God's counter offense to our sin & being our substitute), and Response (Faith & Repentance) have given me more clarity on how to articulate the gospel as well as it has shore up some edges of my understanding as Gilbert desired it would do. There is much to be said about this little action packed book. The gospel and the Kingdom of God being already, not yet is good to meditate on and continue to grow in understanding. I am grateful that we are in a community and our leadership wants to keep the cross at the center of our lives. Also it's humbling to think that we really aren't qualified for anything in this world let alone influence over God's redeemed people but because of Christ's finished work on the cross He allows us to proclaim His gospel and to be used by Him to accomplish His purposes.

God made him who had no sin, to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. - 2 Corinthians 5:21
