Indeed. Now there is money to be made not only by working for your country and doing the right thing, but just getting in front of a camera as much as possible. I didn't even get into the disastrous connection to the political book industry, which is fueled directly by controversy.

I'm not sure they will go down the road in 'New Moon' that you want (less flash, more acting) since there will most likely be more vampire vs. werewolf fights and a bunch more on the Volturi. At this point in the series I only hold out hope that the films don't actually get worse. It should help going in with low expectations, but I did that with New Moon, and like you pointed out, it was fairly terrible.

[Thanks for the comment, by the way!]

Sorry, but I think that Twilight was a pretty respectable movie for the most part, and of course I like the books as well. I'm no wet behind the ear tween by no means of the word and I thought that the books were entertaining- not at all realistic but a pretty good read for what they were. (I do not believe that girls under the age of 20 should be reading these though since they do seem to promote unhealthy relationships and self esteem issues in a way that makes them look appealing). However, the latest installment New Moon, was one of he WORST films I ever had the misfortune to sit though. The misguided attempt to appeal to a broader audience severely and utterly reduced this movie into shiny fluff. The acting of Kristen Stewart was so horribly bad it could in NO WAY be entirely from the script, but comes from the total lack of acting skill on her part- even bad movies can produce good performances with skilled actors. Not to mention that this CG 'experience' of Chris Weitz that you mention was undetectable in the finished product of this movie- the original Star Wars movies were more fluid than this.

Hopefully Summit will get the clue and make a movie based on facts- this is a movie with a solid fan base of younger women who would like to see the book and not all the rubbish CG effects- we're not men. Relationships and actual acting should be the goal instead of all the flash.
