The street was valid to park on as far as I could tell but apparently there was a no stopping sign kind of hidden behind the tree branches. Are parking tickets from MRCA as invalid as their stop sign tickets?

Plus this was in Rowland Heights. I didn’t even know they operated here.

Of course I wasn’t driving and I wasn’t even in California. I have my travel itinerary to prove it. Should I fight the ticket. Ignore it? I have impeccable credit and am looking into buying a house in the near future and do not want any negative ratings. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I was in a rented car, so technically, it’s not my problem. But naturally, the rental company, if they are pursued and pay the fine, will come after me. They’re a more serious problem than the MRCA, so I plan to inform them to simply ignore any mailings; that the MRCA has no power to prosecute. And yes, I will ignore letters and phone calls from MRCA and RSI.

It seemed fishy right from the start. The picture of my car clearly shows me stopped at the stop sign. Yet, the citation is for not coming to a complete stop? And to boot, this park does not even have he authority to hand out tickets or citations in the 1st place. And of course, citations/tickets based on photographic evidence was done away with in LA.
So, I’m not gonna pay it and hope a collection agency comes after me. What they don’t know is I’m an expert in this type of industry and will torture them with paperwork and request after request.
Sadly, I’ve decided to no longer park in Franklin Canyon and will instead hike my way to it, through it, and out of it.
I’m also under the impression that pressure from many that travel through the canyons from Beverly Hills to the SFV are trying to do whatever they can to keep less cars from entering the canyon and clogging up the roads. The issue with this, of course, is that we all pay our taxes and this park belongs to all of us.

I just received the ticket letter a couple of days ago, and from what I read here most probably I will ignore it. But it is quite strange that all posts about these ticket are dated back in 2011-2012… I could’t find any post regarding the recent tickets.

Note to all people who have gotten these criminal tickets:
Do not pay them. If you get calls from their “Collection Agency”, stay calm and tell them to stop calling–and that you will sue them if they dare to tamper with your credit rating. Remember, this is not a charge that you have reneged on. This is their scam. I don’t know anyone who’s had their credit rating touched by these scoundrels.
