- We should be more concerned about Global Warming and Climate Change because Typhoons are getting much stronger and there are greater incidence of Flooding. take for example the recent Typhoon Ketsana which devastated some countries in South East Asia.

I am on board with you. Murrow was an intense orator and news anchor. But I will never support "Obama Girl" or anything like it. Dumbing down politics and making the candidates hip and cool is exactly why our country is failing. The only people these ad campaigns influence are the illiterate mindless immoral morons plaguing our streets. But in an attempt to gain a quantity of voters as opposed to quality voters politicians do this everyday.

Good article. I know this one is old, but it still (mostly) applies.

"fuck you all
i laughed at the joke… and many other 9/11 jokes
it was like 7 years ago. get over it
oh and if someone you love died that day
HAHA!
HAHA!
HAHA!
HAHA!"

Who the fuck do you think you are? Just because some time has passed it means we shouldn't care about 9/11 anymore? Damn, I wish you were in the plane. I don't think you'd be laughing very hard then, peice of shit.

You're probably some little 9 year old pussy, you have no friends do you? No need to answer that, I think everybody pretty much knows that answer.

I hope you live a long life, so you can watch all your close ones (if you have any) die around you. See how hard you're laughing then.

Now that I am a resident of the District, I've made a conscious decision to keep my voting registration back home in Alabama. Even though both of my representatives and Senators are Republicans, it's better than having no ability to vote for representation at all.

Much of it is a result of the fact that the District is overwhelmingly Democratic and thus granting a seat would provide a guaranteed Democratic vote, but nonetheless there is no reason to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of residents.

i believe racism exist but the stereotype racism off the kkk has been great decreased but there is still a current of racism in most people white or black. In the form of just quick decisions based on many things. The cop in this story is probably not consciously hating blacks but he works in evictions with a poor black community so he probably deals with a lot of poor and angry black men and women. So in this situation he (i am not defending him for killing a unarmed man, that was wrong and the man need justice) sees a white man and a poor black man fighting and his experiences or racism makes him quickly and incorrectly assume the black man is to blame. That would not have been a problem if he had done what he should of done and arrested them both and asked people around what happened then took the white man to jail for attacking the man. The officer made the wrong decision and should pay for it.

Racism is fully present and alive. The problem is most, especially privileged intentionally-uninformed Whites, don't understand it. This article here exemplifies what the real problem is: Institutional and Systemic Racism. Personal racism is not so much the issue. The one major problem with this article is to talk about racism only ias a black-white matter. The correct analysis is about white superiority that racistly exists against people of color. We are going global on our institutional and systemic racism. It has to be properly and openly talked about, challenged and resisted.

Oh give me a break. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Stop looking for racism where it doesn't exist. It's a shame the author wasn't around in the 60's, where his righteous indignation would have some merit. In 2009 it's just laughable and sad.
