Thanks for that pointer Alexander. I'll take a look at the videos on that site soon (I'm up to my eyes in other stuff right now). PowerPoint gets such a bashing nowadays, it's not surprising that MS are taking a look at how to freshen it up.

I wonder if they have been influenced by Prezi - something else I keep meaning to look at when I have time.....

I admit I have not used it much myself, as I have too much material in Powerpoint form. I am planning to invest in changing the format of my tools though, especially for presentations that I do often and would like to be able to variate or improvise depending on the interaction with the audience. (I have used Personal Brain in this regard, but people get too attracted by the sci-fi interface!)

Apparently, I am not the only one, judging from Microsoft's Office Labs recent pptPlex offering for Powerpoint http://www.officelabs.com/projects/pptPlex/Pages/default.aspx which allows you to "zoom in and out of slide sections and move directly between slides that are not sequential in your presentation". Interesting, isn't it?

Alexander,

I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never thought of TreeSheets for presentation, and I've been using it daily since I blogged about it almost a year ago http://www.mind-mapping.org/blog/2009/02/treesheets-fast-organised-notes/

And the zoom is one of my favourite features, close behind nested cells.

For the record, I would note that the humble TreeSheets can since a few versions also be used as a presentation tool: http://bit.ly/9MLse0 It is not concept mapping of course, but handy more or less.

I believe that the ability to quickly zoom from a bird's eye view to the detail and back, and bavigate throughout, will be more and more important.

Thanks for the nice words about mindmappedia.com. It has taken a while but we are green on SiteAdvisor with ConceptDraw site.
